5.0 out of 5 stars British Zombie stories, 21 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a compilation of the first 7 short stories of the undead series. It is that rarity, a good solid British zombie book. The humor is spread nicely throuout the series along with some much darker moments. The characters are people that you feel you could know and are people that you genuinely want to pull through. This is a very refreshing escape from the standard Americanised zombie books that are flooding the market. I eagerly await the next compilaton 8-14. This is a definite one for the collection. A recommended read.

I heard a few lines of Monochrome Effect on 'American Dad'. I bought this to hear the whole song. Not disappointed at all. Funky up-tempo electro songs. Can't understand a word but it sounds fun.

Downside - Black glass needs to be cleaned regularly. Batchelors beware;

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good read., 6 Jan 2013

I was put onto this series by a friend and was hooked half way down page one. This is the third outing for the magical detective and it is still a very engrossing read. The characters are well developed and play off each other splendidly. This is NOT a British X-Files. That would be an insult. There is a depth to this series that suggests (hopefully) there will be more to come. There is clearly much more to C/I Nightingale than we know. Personally, I think he deserves a book of his own detailing just what did happen in his past and what happened in Germany to cause such a catastrophy to British wizardry.
If you havnt read the two previous books, dont buy this book. Buy the first two books and then buy this one. Or buy them all together. If you like your police work and your sorcery with a smattering of observational humor you will not be dissapointed.

BUY THIS! PLAY THIS!
Right, now we have calmed down, this is the sequal to Borderlands. Fans of Borderlands will love this. There have been some tweeks for the better and there are at least three DLC packs out. The same humour as last time prevails throughout. Areas are much larger than Borderlands and the characters more specific to their skill set. This game is a COOP at heart. Get a friend, link up and battle. Far more enemies with different skills and methods of attack. At some point you will end up back to back, Roukes Drift style (if you dont know, watch the film Zulu), chucking rounds down range as hordes of enemies come flying, running, creeping, screaming, exploding out of the woodwork and try to eat your face. Best of all, for you secret snipers, JAKOBS guns are now worth having. One shot, BOOM!
A highly recommended game.
Buy it.
Play it.
And make sure you have a few saved games from Borderlands on your console, Gearbox might just have a treat for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Trouble with Sims, 6 Jan 2013

They say never go back. I got hooked on The Sims when it first came out. I saw this and thought, why not? Well, whether it was due to the format change (PS3 not PC) or some other factor, I played it for a few hours then put it down, never to pick it up. Something just wasnt there. The same with the re-release of Goldeneye on the PS3. It should have been good but wasnt. If youve stuck with The Sims youll probably enjoy this. If you are new to the genre or returning, you probably wont.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget messing about in boats, read this. Then mess about in a boat., 6 Jan 2013

Every child should have a copy of this book. This is an unabridged version with some wonderful full-colour drawings. The younger reader will need help to navigate this book but the thrill of the story will no doubt keep them rivited. The pictures will also help mum or dad to explain the story and give the kids an insight into a forgotten, slower world. Far removed from the fast paced, in your face, colour and noise extravaganza of childrens telly, this book still has the thrills and spills to match any bubblegum tv show. Children may find some of the language a bit trickey but once explained they should have no trouble. Cheer for Badger, Ratty, Mole and Toad as they work together to save Toad Hall. Lessons are learnt and friendships forged.
The only downside is that because the copy I have is older (I bought this book for a christmas present) the illustrations were much better drawn and the ones in this book are a little too twee for me. However, let nothing detract from the story or the illustrations, which are for children not for me, and buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good 'Tidings' so far. (Ha ha), 8 Dec 2010
The item looks well constructed and if finished nicely. It has been bought as a present so it will be a few weeks to see if it is a usable piece of kit. I have checked with a battery and the hand keeps time so fingers crossed. Quick delivery and a well packaged item. No problems at all.
