5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary, 18 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This score, and these performances, will surely stand he test of time. I was not convinced that any composer - even Whitbourn - could capture both the despair and hope, the evil and the goodness that runs through this familiar story in a fresh and significant way. But he has confounded everyone and done it.

Make no mistake: this is a very important piece of music. It is essential listening for those who wish to try and confront the truth of our condition. Absolutely breathtaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute joy! A perfect Christmas gift for children, parents and grandparents..., 15 Nov 2011
This review is from: Taylor Takes Charge (Paperback)
This is one of those unusual books that readers aged 8 to 108 will find totally absorbing and that will, embarrassingly, make you laugh out loud involuntarily as you make your way to work or school. Charles Utley has created that rare thing: a world in which children and adults can luxuriate in an escapist fantasy but that is also thrilling, dramatic and - yes - even frightening at times. It is a world that never really existed and yet you can, whole-heartedly, believe it existed. More importantly, you want it to have existed. This is the best secret on Amazon - the book that you will be saying "I was one of the original discoverers of this book". Look no further for that "difficult" Christmas present - you have found it.
