5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant baking book!, 5 Oct 2011
This review is from: Short and Sweet (Hardcover)
The other reviews say it all really, Dan Lepard's recipes work and he has a wonderful way with flavours and textures. He's inventive but not eccentric, and I always look forward to his Guardian baking column on the weekends. Even if you're not a keen baker you'll love this book as it really takes the fear-factor out of baking and needless to say, makes it fun!

Imagining Jewish Art: Encounters with the Masters in Chagall, Guston, and Kitaj (Legenda Studies in Comparative Literature)
Imagining Jewish Art: Encounters with the Masters in Chagall, Guston, and Kitaj (Legenda Studies in Comparative Literature)
by Aaron Rosen
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £44.39

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book on Jewish art, 23 May 2011
Imagining Jewish Art is a masterpiece by one of the finest Jewish scholars of our time. Aaron Rosen writes with wit, flair and captures the reader's imagination from the word go. Indeed he has achieved that rare thing - making an academic book highly readable, exciting and profoundly rewarding. I suspect this won't be the last we'll read from the erudite and talented Rosen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring on the Nordics!, 25 Jan 2010
This review is from: The Nordic Diet (Paperback)
Trina Hahnemann's follow-up to her luscious Scandinavian Cookbook is a guide to adopting healthy eating habits rather than a diet book per se. I tried the spelt pancakes with blueberries, the mussel, leek and potato soup, the smoothie recipes and her bread recipes and they're all brilliant. You feel healthy eating these dishes without that feeling of being on a diet. In other words, there's plenty of flavour in Trina's dishes! The game recipes all look so tempting, am sad this wasn't published earlier in game season. Definitely a great investment, and I may be biased but I suspect we'll hear much more of Nordic/Scandinavian food over here, thanks to Trina.
