2.0 out of 5 stars not the best, 17 Jan 2011
Sorry but got most of these audio cds from the games workshop.

This is simply not the best and probably is the worst to date.
Story just doenst add anything to the Horus Heresy, very linear.
Character of Garro is a bit childish and never seems to get to the point.
Think the story may be a bit of a 1st part with the real plot crunch only on the next CD with little given so far.

If you want a good one well Lightning Tower and the Dark King is best so far.
Far more exciting story and characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars best warhammer audio book yet, 21 Sep 2010
Well I like the audio books as something to relax with in the car

This is the best one to date compared to the 4 others in the 40k audio range that I own. The story is excellent and quite dramatic. But the best feature is the reading actor who really brings the story to life.

I enjoyed the subject matter also told from a chaos persective.

Really recommneded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent strategy game, 1 Jun 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Ok I have read some of these reviews and simply do not agree with them.

I have previously enjoyed strategy games such as Civilisation and Total War series. I enjoy the strategy side of these games more than the action RTS battles which are often repetitive. I have always wanted a strategy 2nd war game but have never found a playable user friendly one.

Now I have........
This game is a really good simple to use 2nd World War strategy game.
You can play as any of the major nations and expand militarily.

The whole world is covered with airpower, seapower and land based troops.
Lots of cool units and buildings, with all nations having lots of unique special units. The money, oil and production tools are quick and easy to understand.

If you want WW2 strategy then this is it.
Just ignore the action battles which are merely an additional feature, better to autoresolve and crack on with the strategy.

Some have mentioned techical issues of which I have experienced none - works fine must be their computers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent portable PSP game turn based strategy, 26 Nov 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
One of the first games I purchased for the PSP an still playing it.
The graphics and sound are superb, and the missions are at the right difficulty level.

There are a number of units to use (space marines, scouts, terminators, grey knights, dreadnoughts, predator, land raider, land speeder) as the space marines and the enemy chaos also has a number of different units and vehicles. You get to choose the weaponry (bolters, missile launchers, las cannons, chainsword, plasma guns and many more) for your squad and then play a hunt and destroy or survive for a number of turns game.

They are all set in an urban city which again is very good graphics and the scenery is all destructable. This is the real limitation of the game and all missions are set in the same city environment. But the game is great fun and there are 15 missions to play in single mission mode. The best missions are when you have to keep the squad alive playing defensive for a number of turns whilst they are attacked by numerous enemies.

The cut scenes also must get a mention as they are really well rendered.
Though the storyline linking them could have been better with characters such as maybe a squad sergeant etc.

Top game lets hope they do another.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disapointment, 23 Jan 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This game should have been an advancement on the WII sports bowling.....
It isn't. The game is no fun and seriously flawed

The bowling action is not in time to the WII movement but delayed and the action is after your WII movement. Worse the viewpoint you bowl from is at an angle rather than straight on so you can't accurately bowl.

Stick to the WII sports bowling or you will be exchanging this game for credit.
