5.0 out of 5 stars ... just to let others know although this is a beautifully presented book with lovely art from the co author ..., 1 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Stars seem a liitle redundant - just to let others know although this is a beautifully presented book with lovely art from the co author - it contains a very small essay by Agamben himself - so really for those who like me have all the works and not for those that wish to become acquainted with the master. For which perhaps potentialities would be a good place to begin depending on what moves you in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars give it a go., 23 Aug. 2013

Arrived very quickly, at a competative price. Product seems of a good standard baring the GMP sticker. Seller is recommended. With regard to effects more difficult to gage effects may become easier when the sunshine fades and winter sets in.

5.0 out of 5 stars where to buy them from in the U.K, 15 Aug. 2008
You will no doubt have done your research if you find yourself looking at these. The problem I had was where to get a pair that Grado's would honour the warranty (they are on the record as not doing so for third party sellers, most of eBay sadly) and to get a fair price (since the Europe and USA markets differ greatly). So at the time of writing I can recommend madisonsoundonline trading through eBay, they offer a buy it now price and a best offer price. They provide a really good service and the warranty is accepted by Grado. Only bear in mind the headphones are hand built to order and will take a few weeks usually. Beyond that I will chip in my two pence worth and say they really are bee's knees and the cat's pyjamas...

5.0 out of 5 stars come and enter this world, 4 April 2008
This review is from: Sciarrino - Lohengrin (Audio CD)
Anyone with any interest in Music should look into the works of sciarrino his voice is unique in each and every work so you may begin anywhere, perhaps leave the solo instrumental works till last. the closest I can think of in terms of "description" is Lachenmann in some strange Nocturnal joy. Scarrino has a deep interest in mysticism and the world of medieval Italian poetry, the works for me really require head phones and darkness for subtlety and sheer strangeness i can think of no one that comes even close oh and it sounds nothing like anything that anyone has done or is doing...to my ears at least.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must see, 8 Jan. 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I would place this amongst some of the other fine examples of the genere. Kurasawa's lower depths Mizoguchi's the life of O-haru. It is so delicate and sadly beautiful. A real gem. It has the rare quilties of some silent films, an unearthly stillness, as we follow a life spiriling away. Well worth any ones time.

5.0 out of 5 stars a place to begin, 14 Dec. 2007
This is for me a perfect place to enter the world of Schnittke. It has for me one of his most beautful and haunting works, along with others that give you a gage of the various styles or approaches he takes. For a cheaper option you can download a vast amount of his work on emusic. You may also want to take a look at the works of Gubaidulina they are both considered 'polystylists'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unsurpassable, 30 Oct. 2007
This is a rare thing a cd thats perfect. If you wish to listen to Lachenmann begin here,it contains three works of absolute wealth. Lachenmann has slowly but surley taken his place as one of the most important composers. The 'wholes' are made of fragments and swirls of bits n bobs...nothing quite sounds like this. The closest i can compare just for a gage would be certian works by Sciarrino. From this cd you can leap almost anywhere else into lachenmanns works its almost all gold.

4.0 out of 5 stars as a film in itself, 17 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Arakimentari [DVD] (DVD)
I know next to nothing about photography or this photographer. I found this documentary however to be wise, witty and at times moving. As far as films go and with regard to subjects you may or may not be aware of it is very rewarding and needless to say i do not agree with the other viewer i found it to be quite balanced as a whole. Full of insights and comments from various poles of his and our culture. There also a film in itself in the extras and commentaries to the main body of work.

5.0 out of 5 stars discover something new, 8 Aug. 2007
Its daunting the world of classical music and very exciting when you do not know your way. Here on this disc you can meet three great and important voices. For me the music of ustvolskaya is worth its weight in gold. Her works are hard to find and here you get to meet her and pick up beatuiful works by Part and Silvestrov. Its hard to go wrong...
