5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely first-rate Photoshop book!, 8 July 2006
Daniel O'Sorenson has shared his extensive skill and expertise in communications graphics in a self-less fashion, in a way that educates and informs in clear cut terms. This book represents not only a brilliant short course on some excellent photoshop techniques, but it also provides insights and advice on the mechanics of communicating through presentation graphics in advertising and marketing. He also gives us the benefit of years of experience of managing client expectations and "selling" creative work, often tricky and uncomfortable areas for graphic artists, and even account handlers to that matter! This book is simply superb value to anyone who wants to use Photoshop vocationally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant book, must have buy for Photoshop users, 25 Mar. 2004
This is probably the best ever book for learning Photoshop CS. It could be used by an absolute begginer, but even more experienced users will find things in here that they did not know.
Deke really is an absolute master trainer, his style is just brilliant. He does not go over the top either, as so many american instructors can do, his approach is first rate. The tutorials seem to have been designed to pack knowledge into the shortest amount of space possible.
As an added bonus there is also two hours of training on the cd along with all the files you need for the tutorials. When so many books leave out the vital files on the CD, this one doesn't, so rest assured. It really is an excellent value book for Photoshop users - snap it up! You won't be disappointed. Well done Deke!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent evocative music...., 22 Jan. 2004
This review is from: Master and Commander (Audio CD)
I have yet to see the film, but have read the first two Patrick O'Brian books. I really enjoyed the books, and the CD soundtrack is great to listen to as you read along.
Music written for film, as much of this CD is, is so much better as it was obviously composed to compliment and enhance the action and visual production values. The mixture of original score with existing classical and folk music really worked well. I can't wait to see the film now.
