2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 22 April 2005
Series Two is the jewel in this collection. The first series was macho bull and totally unrealistic scenarios, whilst series two was much more realistic. However, the characters, planning and fight scenes are fantastic throughout. Series 3 (which I've only seen on TV so far) is, again, disappointing and obviously lacking the consulting role of Chris Ryan. There are several patrol and fight scenes that the SAS simply would not handle in the way portrayed!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars There's something about Mary, 11 April 2005
Definitely one of the best music purchases I've made in the last couple of years. Mary Gauthier has a unique skill in the descriptiveness of her lyrics, that just take you to where she is in a song - from leaving home, to the atmosphere of a relationship breakdown, to the despair and subsequent acceptance of a prisoner on death-row. A somewhat dark, but incredibly uplifting album of hope, summed up in the lyric... "sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do, and pray that the people you love will catch up with you."

This review is from: The Best of Fela Kuti (Audio CD)
If you like world music, jazz or funk - this is the album for you. Relentless high energy with some tracks going on for near-20 minutes each! Combined in Fela's life story (outlined on the sleeve), you'll be hooked.
Fela's gone now, but his son Femi is keeping the sound alive and contemporary with other great releases and rare live UK performances. But it was his daddy set the standard.
