1.0 out of 5 stars At best, useless, at worst, dangerous!, 25 Jan. 2016
At best useless, at worst dangerous. The product is totally useless as it is so slippery. This seems to be a common criticism of the Manduka Mat's but I thought I would give it a go anyway as I have never had any problems with slipping on any other mats before.

I tried cleaning it and scrubbing it as recommended but it was no good. Not only is it slippery on the mat surface, it actually slips on the floor itself. It is frankly quite dangerous.

When trying to arrange a return I had great difficulty with the supplier even though I had barely used it and they refused to give a refund. I will not be dealing with this company again and would not recommend their products.

Ice Forged: Book 1 of the Ascendant Kingdoms Saga
Ice Forged: Book 1 of the Ascendant Kingdoms Saga
by Gail Z. Martin
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.99

1.0 out of 5 stars Shallow characters, shallow plot, shallow world, 19 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The best way to describe this series of books is very very shallow. The characters have no depth, are one dimensional and are generally all male. Whilst there are some interesting ideas the author presents a very simple story, simple world, no map, no culture. The idea of restoring magic is quite childlike in its portrayal and borrows from a poor understanding of eastern philosophy. The motives for characters actions to endanger themselves and solve mysteries they don't understand is totally irrational and poorly written. There are over 100 better fantasy books than this out there, not worth the read.

Palmistry: The Complete Guide to the Fundamentals of Hand Reading
Palmistry: The Complete Guide to the Fundamentals of Hand Reading
Dvd ~ Lawrence Rook

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, clearly explained scientific approach, 15 July 2014
Really enjoyed this DVD and couldn't stop watching it. I had little knowledge or experience with palmistry before I watched it but found it very clear to understand and well explained in a structured way.

It gives a step by step guide to how to read a hand, beginning with the shape and skin texture and moving onto the major lines, finger prints and markings.

It is far from the airy fairy palm reading that some people may initially associate this subject with. The subject is quite scientifically explained but in an approachable fashion and strikes a cord more with psychology than anything else. The hand is explained as a reflection of the functioning of the persons psyche, mental and emotional processes. It explains how and why people think and feel differently and how this is reflected on the hand.

The author clearly knows his subject well and I felt drawn in and fascinated by the subject wanting to know more and more. Would highly recommend it to anyone interested in hand reading, psychology, people or the human mind, really fascinating and concise!

Daoist Nei Gong: The Philosophical Art of Change
Daoist Nei Gong: The Philosophical Art of Change
by Damo Mitchell
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Literally the only book in English which details the finer technical aspects of Nei Gong and Daoist Meditation., 4 Aug. 2011
Nei Gong being the controversial and secretive subject that it is, naturally there are hardly any books which deal with and detail the theory, let alone provide a systematic and technical guide throughout the whole Nei Gong process itself! The author covers the subject in such detail that simply cannot be found in other sources, be it English or Mandarin, yet in a way which is perfectly accommodating to a veteran and a newcomer to the subject alike. The information usually found on the subject uses extremely symbolic language which usually results in many misinterpretations and misunderstandings as to the finer details of the practice. Damo demonstrates a logical and practical approach to decoding the symbolic nature of the ancient Chinese spiritual tradition in way that can be understood and utilised by the western mind. The quality of his martial arts and chi gong demonstrated in his youtube videos reflect the fact that the author is truly dedicated and passionate about his training; all of which is clearly apparent throughout the book. Simply a must have for any serious practitioner of the the eastern spiritual traditions.
