Interpet LED Lighting System - Triple Bright White 47cm
Interpet LED Lighting System - Triple Bright White 47cm
Price: £35.95

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot better constructed than some other LED lights I've purchased in ..., 20 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A lot better constructed than some other LED lights I've purchased in the past for my tank. The LED strips are encased in glass tubes. I purchased the triple unit for my 2ft tank and find the illumination about equal to the two fluorescent tubes it replaced. The LEDs assembly is in the hood my tank. I suspect a single or double unit would have given insufficient illumination.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, light weight reading, 20 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Rather light weight reading written by an author with a diploma in holistic health therapy and with a passion for natural medicine, The self praise reviews in the front pages include “I loved the holistic manner...” and “I like the holistic approach of the author...”

Despite the title suggesting a cure the message in the book is eat less and more exercise. For the UK reader a visit to a NHS web site on type 2 diabetes gives just as much important information.

The book is well written and easy to understand but for me the 45 minute read of the whole book gave me practically no more information than I obtained from my first visit to the nurse specialising in diabetes at my local NHS health centre.

The units shown in the book are for a USA readership rather than those commonly used in the UK, albeit the conversions are rather trivial to perform.

4.0 out of 5 stars A few set-up problems but it seems to work well, 23 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a bit of a chore to set-up if your main router doesn't support the one button push WPS set-up and if you have MAC filtering enabled on you man router.

The MAC address reported in the WN3000 web page set-up screen was NOT the MAC address printed on the label on the side of the box. This initially caused me a bit of a problem when first trying to get the extender to connect to my main router.

If you have MAC address filtering set-up on your main router turn it OFF before you start - you can turn it back on again after set-up BUT read the instructions on the last 2/3 pages of the short manual first. Equipment connected via the extender gets its MAC address modified and so you may/will end up with two MAC addresses for each bit of your own equipment. If you use MAC filtering both of these MAC addresses will have to be added to your filter list for your main router.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, 28 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The item works well and after half a dozen usages the hard skin on my heels has almost disappeared.

Notes:
Don't expect to get rid of all the hard skin in one go, keep the roller running at the highest speed with a light touch. Some reviewers appear to think its a mains powered angle grinder and you can grind off a couple of mm of hard skin in one go.

The batteries don't last that long before the motor starts to slow down so make sure that you have some spare AA batteries. However, I have used this device extensively in the first week and gone through 2 sets of batteries. In future the usage will be less extensive. I use Duracell Procell AA Batteries as a preference (£6 incl p&p for 20 from Amazon sellers, £12 incl p&p for 50 from a well known auction web site - batteries dated to 2018).

The unit can generate a lot of dead skin dust. You can see some of this dust leaving the roller as very fine smoke like particles. This will travel around the room settling on everything. This time of year it may be worth using it outside whilst sitting in your garden chair.

[edit]
Some reviewers think the roller becomes smooth after as short time. It's probably just clogged with skin dust. Remove the roller and wash under a running tap and you may find that it "revives" the roller.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dont buy it for network features, 18 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Pros
Good price
Faster than generation 1 players to load disks
As a basic Bluray/DVD player it does the job very well and for these features alone worth 4 stars

Cons
It doesn't work for the network features that I've tied, hence minus a star.
A software upgrade was successfully performed via a wired connection to my router indicating at least that the box can communicate with the rest of the world
It loads the BBC Iplayer menu and preview images but fails to play ALL content.
The Youtube implementation on this box is not intuitive and prone to constant lock ups.

To put this functionality into context. My Internet connection allows flawless Iplayer and Youtube operation on two other boxes I have connected to the same router.

A small gripe. Why do manufactures think that putting light grey text on a slightly darker grey background is a good idea.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, 9 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My MP3 player (Zen M300) came with a cheap set of ear phones which give well balanced sound. I thought that most cheap replacement ear phones would be of the same quality and would meet my needs. This was until I tried this product. On a mixture of music, folk through to heavy rock, the results were very disappointing. Mid frequencies seem very distant and base is a horrible barely audible growling noise. Long term listening becomes very tiresome at low volume levers which shows the deficiencies in this product to a greater extent. Performance at ear damaging volume levels is better but still isn't good.

I purchased two sets and both exhibit the same poor performance

This is a pound shop type product sold at an inflated price.

Don't waste your money.

I have used this as recommended with a water pick and it has made absolutely no difference. My teeth/gums felt cleaner as a result of using the water pick but the amount of tartar seen on my own before and after photos show no apparent improvement. This is despite taking much better care of my teeth over the past month whilst using the product.

1.0 out of 5 stars OK but not good enough, 25 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
[Edit] A few days on and the unit is becoming less reliable and now takes multiple attempts to switch it on. The battery reports low power one minute and then full power 30 seconds later, even with a full charge. I seem to be suffering from the same problems that have resulted in 1 star from other posters hence my own reduction from 3 to 1 star [Edit]

The reviews for this product in this section are generally favourable but looking at the reviews for the identical product from other sellers on Amazon shows that nearly a hundred people have given 1 or 2 stars.

Instructions were in a font size that was unreadable without zooming up in my scanner. For some important points they are just incorrect. They are a poor translation into English and missing diagrams which the text references. I suspect that the instructions are generic for a range of products that operate slightly differently.

With the supplied charging/data connector fitted the headphone socket cannot be used at the same time, the shell of the connector is too large. Alternative charging/data cables have smaller shells that allow the headphones to be used at the same time.

The unit works quite well BUT it has one major problem.
On the top of the unit there is a slide switch that the instructions say is a power on/off switch. ALWAYS LEAVE THIS IN THE ON POSITION or else it will switch the unit permanently off and reset all the configurations. This switch is more like the plastic pull tab isolating the battery when you first get some cheap electronics.
When attaching the charging cable the unit will switch on irrespective of the position of this switch with an instruction to switch the unit on, so far so good. However, with the charging cable disconnected if this switch is turned to the power off position the unit will fail to switch on again again. The charging cable has to be connected once more to a power source to switch the unit back on. Once switched on the charging cable can be disconnected and the unit remains on. It can be then be turned on or off by holding down the play button for 6+ seconds, sometimes with a second or third attempt (unless you again set the top switch to off).

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, 20 Nov. 2011
I have modified my light in order to mount the solar cell away from the light and have therefore voided my warranty, but having taken the unit apart I can make the following comments.

The solar cell is fixed to the light and can only be moved in one direction. Unless you are mounting the light where the cell can collect the most light during the day you are likely to be disappointed with the performance of the unit, especially in winter. With fully charged battery the light was acceptable but on a dull charging day and a cold night the light was barely more than you get from a £1 garden spike solar light.

The unit is not waterproof. There is no seal around the battery housing, around the on/off switch or around the cable entry. Water will enter if the unit is exposed to rain and probably within a year expect to see "fatal" corrosion around the battery terminals and circuit board. There will be no danger to health as there is no mains voltages and the highest voltage is around 5V.

I have seen more sophisticated electronics in the £1 garden lights and I suspect if similar circuit techniques were used in this type of fitting a better quality (long term brightness) of light could have been achieved.

There is nothing in the light assembly except the 8 LEDs and reflector. The unit could easily have been made a third of the size.

It may be possible to get a better performance by replacing the 3 AA 1500mAh batteries with commonly available AA 2200mAh versions.

In general, the quality reflects that it is made to a (low) price. While the performance figures may be achievable in ideal conditions I suspect that many installations will not allow the full potential of the light to be met.

1.0 out of 5 stars zero value publication, 24 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If I could give this 0 stars I would.
The _whole_ publication consists of _two_ small pages.
No information is given on how to construct a LP antenna.
The first page just shows how to connect a coax cable to some undefined antenna.
The second page shows the performance of some random LP antenna that the author has probably made but is unwilling to share information for in this publication.
