Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Pluses and minuses with this bed. We bought it to replace a full bed-height double airbed that was loosing too much air overnight and we missed the fact that this bed is actually only about half the height of a full-height bed - this is a problem as my wife has mobility problems which mean that it is painful for her to get up down onto it and off it. It was not obvious from the photo and we would have changed it only we were heading off camping soon after. We developed a "plan b" by using the existing slowly deflating bed as a base with this new one on top - worked well for us but would have been better to have what we thought we had bought! On the up side this is a comfy bed as it has a "pocket" arrangement to the sleeping surface so much less "roll together". It did deflat a bit overnight and we topped it up each night but wewould be a pain to inflate while camping if you don't have electric hook-up.

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful start for managing chronic pain., 1 Jun. 2010
I am in the early stages of studying for a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and picked up this book as I was tasked with searching out useful self-help materials for managing Chronic Pain. I am particularly interested in the topic as my wife lives with chronic pain (as well as with me!). We looked at the book together & found it to be a useful introduction, easy to read, with plenty of sensible suggestions for those living with pain and their family, friends and colleagues. The chapter on "Managing your Doctor" we found rang bells for us. We thought it would also be a useful text for support groups to work through together.

The bit that we reckoned is missing from the book are "work-sheets" to allow the reader to reflect on their own experience, review their learning as they move through the chapters and record it for the future so we would suggest perhaps creating your own diary / learning journal to keep alongside it.
