5.0 out of 5 stars Great Modern Jazz, 9 Jan. 2008
This review is from: Backchat (Audio CD)
Jazz isn't the type of music i have the greatest awareness about, so I tend to approach any Jazz album I'm recommended with a bit of trepidation. But I'm absolutely loving this! Manging to be both funky and laid back. Accessible without being over familiar, this is definately an album worth seeking out

4.0 out of 5 stars The Chems "Do it again"!, 23 Dec. 2007
This review is from: We Are The Night (Audio CD)
I was a little surprised by some of the more negative reviews that have graced this album and was left wondering if we were listening to the same record. It's certainly their best since Surrender, though is maybe not as immediate. Combining deep dark funk (Do It Again), Indie-rave mash up (All Rights Reserved), deep funky techno (Saturate) amongst others, it's certainly an album I've not gotten tired of this year and rewards repeated listens. Okay, the Salmon Dance may divide opinion but personally it brightens up my day every time I hear it

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic accessible Jazz!, 23 Dec. 2007
This review is from: Daydreams (Audio CD)
I have to admit that I'm not an expert on Jazz - especially modern Jazz. My range is Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker. But I was recommended this album by a friend and I've got to admit that I love it. Accessible, interesting and fantastically played. If you have a love for classic Jazz you'll love this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Deep House Delight, 16 Aug. 2005
This review is from: How to Kill the DJ (Audio CD)
I got this after buying and loving How to Kill the DJ Pt2. Compared to it's highly eclectic sister compilation this is a more standard deep house type affair, with a few oddities thrown in (Ministry anyone?) but that doesn't mean that it's not an excellent compilation in itself. Probably more 3.5 stars if you're being picky and one for a late chilled session rather than a party atmosphere but still worth a look if this is your taste in music.
