3.0 out of 5 stars Probably a bit too much for what I needed, 30 Jan. 2011
I needed an external hard drive in order to move some music and photos from my laptop, as the laptop was getting slow. In retrospect buying this product was probably unnecessary, as it has taken up a lot of space on my desk and cost a lot more than other products which would have been just as appropriate for my needs. Oh well, at least disk space will never be a problem to worry me again.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Modern Marvel, 5 Feb. 2010
I bought myself a Snuggie last week because I was getting truly fed-up to the back teeth with blankets. If you like blankets, you like insufficient warmth coverage and you also like the inability to use you hands and arms whilst keeping warm. If you like blankets you may as well be living in 1910.
The Snuggie is a modern marvel. It is the 'blanket' for the 21st century. I wear (note the use of 'wear', something you would not say about a blanket) my Snuggie around the house, it allows me the ability to operate in my house as normal but with an extra layer of warmth. The sleeves are a geniunely fantastic idea. My one problem is that the Snuggie does not have 'sleaves' for you legs, as it does for your arms. But, i have come up with a solution. If you wrap the Snuggie around your legs, you can tape the Snuggie to fit the shape of your legs and thus end up with leg sleaves too.
The only other major problem with the Snuggie is that once you have it on, you will not want to take it off! Last week I had 3 days off work due to mild influenza and I only took off my Snuggie to go to bed. 3 days is not a lot of time to recover from influenza you say! Who is to say that without my Snuggie I could have had the illness for up to a week? I'll let you decide on that one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Realistic, 23 Sept. 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Top Spin 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
The realism of this game is superb. Last night my brother walked into the room and asked me who was playing tennis, he thought i was watching tv, and his eyesight is near perfect. Also much effort has clearly been put into reproducing the playing styles of the players, which they have done really well. There are some nice touches too to add to the realism, eg. the plane sounds on the US Open court, Flushing Meadows, just like in real life.

Althoug it is not as easy to pick up and play as virtual tennis, it is very rewarding once you get to grips with it. The career mode is decent imo, although some disagree, however not having wimbledon isn't too big a deal because they've got all the masters tournaments (apart from Shanghai - soon to be O2 arena - at the end of the season) and the other grand slams.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Mixtape but..., 10 April 2008
This review is from: The Mengi Bus Mixtape (Audio CD)
A good offering of some reworked songs and a few fresh ones. However what is Jehst doing. At the end of a number of the tracks a woman's voice comes on and promotes the release of Jehst's new album this summer 'Dragon of an Ordinary Family'. I have no idea what that's about, for one, why bother? The only people i can imagine shelling out for a mixtape such as this are probably pretty big fans, thus they would already know about the album coming up. Just feels like jehst's selling out a bit, self-promotion i don't mind, but don't let it encroach on the music.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Difficult, 17 Mar. 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Bigs (Wii) (Video Game)
I generally think of myself as a good gamer but this was too difficult for me. I have been trying for ages to play on easy mode, with the all-star teams against the rubbish teams but cannot win. I will lose 15 runs an inning when pitching and never get anywhere with batting, generally always getting caught out by spectacular fielding.

The control system for the pitching is awful also, the pitches where you only have to motion down with the Wii remote work fine but the ones where you must rotate the remote do not work at all, the result is that your pitching eventually ends up becoming a farce. On easy mode I never play past the 2nd innings, by which time i'm about 30-0 down. I'm a decent gamer who generally completes most games but this is too hard. I recommend leaving it alone and looking for games which introduce you comfortably into a new dynamic of game play, Table Tennis is especially good at this i think.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get ready world, 5 Jun. 2006
This review is from: Bright Idea (Audio CD)
'Let me entertain you' is probably the best song in the world ever, after every song on Orson's new album. I have followed the band since 1999 and to be honest I believe that the lead singer is the antichrist, no joke. He posseses an awesome power that I believe peaked in early 2002 when in Hamburg, Germany, during a live show he created fire and also made the number 666 appear emblazened upon a memeber of the audience's chest, whom I had been watching and can guarantee that the only tattoo on his chest was that of a minnow flying into a cup.

Orson's new album can thus be summed up as this. Anti-religious rock that has one sole purpose, to destroy the modern world. The drummer also lokks a bit like my nephew who is pretty good in school, surely this can only be a good thing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Catchphrase comedy, 20 Nov. 2005
I really liked the first series of Little Britain. The Scottish guy in the hotel was superb. Bernard in the flat, frankly, absolutely kicked arse. But this time round it was not funny. They seem to just resort to schoolyard humour. Fat nakedness and racist WI are funny the first time, saying ' Yeah, I know' is funny the first time, Vicky Pollard was funny the first time and even that bloke that still breast feeds was funny first time. Sadly six episodes of repeating them is not funny. Lucas and walliams are funny men but it is clear that this show reaches out to the masses and thus has made them bucket loads of money. So I say good for them, however if you are looking for some more inventive and more intelligent humour stear clear. Nevertheless you can find some laughs in the really awkward bloke in the shop, enough to earn the second series two stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Trying too hard, 24 Sept. 2005
I bought this simply because I saw Chris Morris on it. I watched it, as you do, and felt a little bit dissap. at the end. I think that after all of his ingenious comedy he is trying to diversify abd produce a sort of arthouse 'Warp Films' piece, however it comes over a pretentious, my view of most arthouse films. He tries too hard to be unusual whereas I would have prefered just a hint of that Brass Eye lunacy to spicen it up.
My advice, do not buy it if you expect early Morris esq work. This is a new chapter in his work and it is very different to the rest of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Zander Zone, 25 May 2005
This review is from: xXx [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
Vin is an amazing actor. I have met him once and he was a really genuine guy. He seemed to have a lot of original ideas about stunts. This film is boosted by a very strong story line that contains good sub-plots and a constant, yet not over obvious, political theme.
The stunts are good looking and the explosions are very real. The gadjets are helped by a comical inventor, lol, but all the same are mind boggling.
All in all the acting on Vin's part is succesful, as always, and he reiterates the fact that all of his films have been meaningful and exciting at the same time. Still think Fast and Furious is his greatest masterpiece, but this is close. Go and buy.
Best Wishes

5.0 out of 5 stars This film was the People's Bestbow, 25 May 2005
This review is from: Walking Tall [DVD] (DVD)
Wow. I am a huge Rock fan. I have read his books, his autobiography and motivational books. I have seen him perform live three times, once in London, once in Cardiff and once in the USA. He won three times, twice with the People's Elbow and the other time when the other wrestler, HHH, was disqualified for using the WWF belt as a weapon.
I saw this on DVD. The film was really fun. The story was amazingly good and the Rock acted really well. The other actors were obviously not as good as the Rock at acting or fighting, the Rock won all his fights. However the Rock did not use as many wrestling moves as I would have liked, for instance he could have used the Rock Bottom in many occassions but instead he punched/kicked them.
The Rock plays an ex-marine in the film and has a block of wood as a weapon. This is the only let down. In Scorpian King, his best film, he uses a real weapon, the sword, and acts more like a wrestler. Buy this film and be surprised by the realness of the fighting, sometimes you actually think theRock is going to lose, but does he!? Find out yourself!
Best Wishes
