5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, 26 Jan. 2008

I traded in the overhyped and tedious 'Assassins Creed' for this and I was very impressed . Its like being in the middle of an Indiana Jones movie , lots of action , humour and the right level of difficulty ..tricky in places but not completly impossible like some games.

It also has probably the shortest loading times i've seen for the PS3 yet , which was a real pleasant suprise..especially compared to all the bum numbing waiting about you have to endure with Assassins.

Go buy it!

Depeche Mode are back with a bang , after the frankly very dull 'exciter' I took a risk and got the new album . Its probably there best work since 'violator' ..the opening 4 tracks are especially good. They seem to be refreshed and invigorated ..don't let 'exciter' put you off this is great stuff ..its been doing constant rotation on my ipod...and its great to see Dave Gahan finally getting a chance to contribute some songs to the band .

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic .. return to form, 18 May 2003
I was a little confused by one of the other reviews criticising this album for not being like his other albums . 'Holy Wood' was probably his worst album as he kind of descended into self parody and I got rather of tired of him for a long time , but as the first line on 'Golden Age' says "everythings been said before , theres nothing left to say anymore" . 'Golden Age' is full of fantastically sleazy industrial glam anthems that lodge themselves in your head . Highlights for me are 'doll-dagga- buzz- buzz - ziggety - zag' , 'vodevil' and '(S)aint' . The reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is its a tiny bit too long and could have lost a couple of tracks , but don't let that put you off there is so much good stuff on this album ... go order it now . Can't wait for the tour to get over here.

I have been an REM fan for as long as I can remember and I came away from this book feeling like I had got so much closer to the band . I have been going back listening to the cds and interpreting them differently knowing what was going on in the band at the time . There is some fascinating information including talk of an REM and Nirvana colloboration (unfortunately kurt put a stop to that ever taking place:() . The only reason im not giving it 5 stars is there are no new contributions from michael stipe , he's not that keen on interviews but it would have been nice to have some non archive words from him seeing he is the sole figure on the books cover.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing videos, 29 Nov. 2001
This isn't getting 5 because fascination street and pictures of you are not on it , but even so its an essential release from an amazing band and contains enough quality music to warrant a place on your dvd shelf . The accoustic set is also interesting viewing to hear some of the well known songs such as Lullaby sounding totally different.
