That is what the commentry at the back of this record says and it is hard to disagree.

This is a great introduction to the great mans music, if you like Jazz Funk and Soulful vocals over Jazzy Grooves this is for you.

Probably the most know song on this collection is Dominoes, but to be honest I think every song is great. My personal stand outs are You and Music, Think Twice and Wind Parade.

Just enjoy.

I can't believe this record has not been reviewed on Amazon yet. Roy Ayers is an exceptional talent and after years in the wilderness his music made a resurggence in the late 80's and in some circles he became known by some as the 'Godfather of Acid Jazz'. Since then he has recorded new material and been performing regularly at Ronnie Scotts in London.

However, it is his earlier material, pre 80s, which is the most wonderful and this is, in my opinion, one of his best albums (along with 'Africa Centre of the World'. Though he has many more great albums, Mystic Voyage, Red Black & Green and Vibrations, to name a few.

For me the title track is the standout but I also like 2000 Black, Magic Lady, Show Us A Feeling and Time and Space.

If you like it funky and enjoy the fusion of soul and jazz then you should check this album out - and the rest of his material!
