1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy build quality, 8 Mar. 2007
I purchased this item about a month ago, and had no problems with installing/data transfer/system crashing etc etc, in fact I would imagine most of these errors are operating system related.

however, today, through nothing but normal usage, the sleeve of the key came right off the circuit board when I tried to remove it from my laptop.

It now does not work, and I am in the process of trying to make a complaint to datawrite, however, their website is absolutely rubbish and contains no contact information.

My data is lost, and so is the money I paid for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tool - 10,000 Days, 29 April 2006
This review is from: 10,000 Days (Audio CD)
The album arrived this morning.

First thing you'll want to do before even putting the CD in is savour the packaging... It's beautiful.

There is artwork-a-plenty courtesy of Alex Grey... and it's good... I don't want to spoil the surprise... but there's depth to the artwork... physical depth. and it adds a new dimension to the imagery.

The music takes off right from the outset, and the first track "Vicarious" is packed with many layers, prog elements at times, and classic Tool style and nuances and finishing touches. The vocal level is fairly low in this track, but it's nothing a few listens doesn't sort out.

The second track will have you clutching your chair as it kicks off and Maynards soulful voice is brought through the rhythmic bass drum and driving guitar line. The delay and flange effect on the guitar in the next section is gorgeous, and Maynard's efforts only enhance it.

So as not to spoil the album I'll leave it there... but there are a lot of rumours surrounding this album... let me tell you that "10,000 Days" IS the title of the album... and the track listing is as stated on Amazon and other websites. While the "10,000 Days" title doesn't seem especially Tool-ish being that we're used to names Like Ænima or Lateralus... there's definitely more to this than the words.

All in all... A must for anyone who values music or meaning.

Enjoy

Chris.

True Crimes: Streets of LA Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides)
True Crimes: Streets of LA Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides)

5.0 out of 5 stars True Crime, 7 Jan. 2004
This book, suitable for all platforms, is very good.
The book begins by re-explaining the basics of the game such as driving, shooting, fighting, reward points, badges and the 24/7 facilities. This is useful as they are not covered extensively in the game manual. Then an evauluation of the main players, and statistics on all the weapons follows.
Subsequent to this is 125 pages of pure strategy guide. Once you've got through this there is 23 pages devoted to the bonus upgrades and strategies on how to get them. Still not letting up, the book goes into 2 pages of detail on 'Bonus Cruisin'. There is also a selection of cheats at the end (for each of the platforms, so there's no need to feel left out).
The book covers all the possible endings, and gives you a nice big pull-out diagram to illustrate where they are and how to get to them.
On the reverse side of this pull-out there are three maps of the "Streets of LA". The first one indicating the locations of the 30 "Dogg Bones" (hidden so well I didn't know they existed until I bought the Guide). The second map indicates where the pharmacies are for reviving your health meter, the garages to find your unlocked bonus cars, and the repair garages, obviously to repair your car. The Third map shows the locations of all the 24/7 locations which are vital to making your task easier and completing the game to 100%.
This guide is excellent, I'd recommend this to anyone, If you've read the "Vice City" walkthrough or the "Manhunt" walkthrough your in for a treat as these are all by the same author, Tim Bogenn. Using the "Vice City" guide or the "Manhunt" guide as a comparison, in my opinion this, book is just as good as either, and Tim Bogenn must again be praised by all of us who struggle with these games.
Five Stars - Faultless
