3.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking and functional (eventually), but poorly engineered thread, 14 Nov 2014

My top tip - use way more PTFE tape than you think you'll need!

Nice looking and functional (eventually), but very poorly engineered thread. Bought to fit a new metric radiator into an imperial spaced central heating system without needing to re-do the pipes. First fitting, I used a normal amount of PTFE tape (normal that I'd use for a new radiator), filled the radiator a little and there was a good steady stream of drips. Second fitting, I used a good chunk of PTFE tape - the kind of amount one feels is overkill - radiator lasted an hour before slow occasional drips started to appear (both ends of the extension). Third fitting I was getting fed up and used the rest of a new role of PTFE tape and some of a new role, a week later and that seems to have done the trick (this was to fit two extensions, once each side of the radiator).

4.0 out of 5 stars Rock solid for skirting., 14 Nov 2014

Used for attaching fully finished skirting boards and architrave. A week on, and it seems to have done the trick - has stuck them on rock solid on uneven walls. Top tip - wipe off any you don't want when it's still wet, you'll not shift it once it's dried. And have lots of heavy stuff nearby to hold it to the wall while it goes off, it'll take a few of hours to get fully gripped.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet, 27 Jun 2014

If you enjoyed the Thursday Next books (particularly the earlier better ones), you'll enjoy this. I found it original, well paced, unputdownable and full of the randomness of the other Fforde books. Great stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to the series, 24 Jun 2014
I found this a well written and imaginative fantasy book. Good pace, and quite a compelling read such that I found myself not wanting to put it down. Not quite 5 stars due to a few spelling mistakes and odd word anomalies (I'm guessing autocorrect was to blame!), and whilst the pace was generally good the ending of the book kind of felt like the author just wanted to get it finished quickly so I found it felt hurried. Still a good read though, and I'll be giving the follow ups a look.

Cuddly Raa Raa is good quality, and son loves it. Nice size for a toddler, and no point or loose bits to worry about. Feels all snuggly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, but effective, 9 April 2014

Works well, and means you can use your old charger with a new MacBook. Fits with the "just works" ethos. Loses a star simply for being expensive for what it is. Apple - would it really hurt to sacrifice a little margin on something so boring?

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Mother's Day present, 9 April 2014

A nice frame, but I find it a little awkward to get photos working well with the heart shaped template. Went down very well as a Mother's Day present from my son though!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal 50w halogen drop-in replacement, 9 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First drop-in halogen replacement I've been convinced of. This is bright as a halogen to my eyes, and cool white gives a more daylight-like light (which I prefer). Absolutely critical for my kitchen lights is flush fitting, it's only marginally longer than a halogen GU10. The angled edges are about the same as the surface of a normal GU10, with the face of the LED surface maybe 3-4 mm further forward. Looks fine in my kitchen though, so I'm very happy. 400w of kitchen lighting reduced to 56w with no perceptible loss of light. More expensive, but hopefully without the hassle of regular bulb replacements.

Ideal for Pi use. Just works, simple as that. Enabled me to plug my Pi into an old VGA ported TV, using both the audio and VGA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal car ipad and iPhone charger, 7 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very pleased with this. Charges phones and iPads no problems at full speed. Low profile in the socket. Great buy, and perfect for car travelling tech over-users like myself. Only tiny gripe is the overly bright LED - a dimmer option would be better, but everything does seem to have a ridiculously bright blue LED in it at the moment. Someone somewhere must've got a cheap bulk deal on them.
