4.0 out of 5 stars What you need on jquery!, 14 Feb 2008
First I will have to state, that this is my first and only book on the subject. Compared to most books I have read recently, this is far the most well written book: I hate books where the author doesn't take the time to narrow down his message to the reader. In this case the authors did a really good job. It isn't perfect, but they still did a very good job. If they made a more detailed index I would give this book 5 star and send a free copy to Bill Gates :-) - I'am a .Net freek.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish for money!, 11 Feb 2008
This review is from: ASP.NET 2.0 Unleashed (Hardcover)
I ordered this book and expected a look into the more complex areas of ASP.NET development: Writting nearly 2000 pages it should be nearly imposible to mis out what you really want to know as a developer - but the writter does it over and over again. The book is nothing but a bad rewrite of the msdn documentation: More then 50% of this book is pure code samples on how not to do things in a production environment. The remaning 50% is so badly written that you have to read 20 pages to get the information, that could have been written in 1 or 2 pages: I think it is direspectfull of the writter, not to take the time to narrow things down. Also it keeps refering to asp includes as if we where stuck in the past. Spend your money else where - there is nothing in this book you can find on msdn for free. You will also find that the msdn is a much better source for information. This book needs a total rewrite and should have been no more than 300 - 400 pages.
