5.0 out of 5 stars Bewilderingly blistering genius, 23 Aug 2012
This review is from: Life Is People (Audio CD)
I admit I'm a massive lover of all bills previous work including "still some light " and the masterpiece " tommorrow tommorrow tommorrow " so I've been anxiously awaiting this release as much I have been waiting for the new bob Dylan !
" life is people" has arrived and has been on repeat ever since ! I'm staggered by its beauty it's peace , it's sympathy ! A the five star rave reviews u read about this from around the work are true ! This isn't just a cd release its a gift and an event ! Incredible !

5.0 out of 5 stars a beautiful full circle for paul, 15 Feb 2012
like the lovely bob dylan christmas album a few years ago..i found this new mccartney album to be simply beautiful.heartfelt and sincere..i guess some people just don't get that...
..its like paul has gone full circle and come home to the music to the music he first heard as a kid..there is a heartfelt, weary, wordily tone to his voice these days which i just love..the production..the string arrangements ..the band..the song selection..everything about this album is perfect..
.paul is on a roll these days..great live concerts..the ocean kingdom album..the superb trio of solo albums..driving rain..chaos and creation..and memoiry almost full and now this brilliant brilliant album..i love it

5.0 out of 5 stars one of neils greatest albums, 13 Jan 2012
This review is from: Sleeps With Angels (Audio CD)
no question at times I've thought of this as perhaps neils greatest ever album. No doubt it is certainly his best of the last 30 plus years and easily as equal to his 7o,<s classics...MORE IN MOROSE STYLE TO TONIGHTS THE NIGHT THAN ANY OF HIS OTHER ALBUMS,THO WOTHOUT THE STONED DRUNKARD FEEL OF THAT MASTERPIECE...Bookended by two of his most hauntingly beautiful song MY HEART and A DREAM THAT CAN LAST..and the incredible CHANGE YOUR MIND contains one of his best ever long crazy horse jams..BLUE EDEN sounds like zztop on tranquillisers..piece of crap is just a rust never sleeps type rave up..the rest of the album is sombre, dark, and beautiful..just buy this record

1.0 out of 5 stars wow..what a rip off,,plunder our walletts mick, 18 Jun 2010
wow..we know that the stones have been more of a corporation in the spirit of a rock n roll mcdonalds..or "the walmart of rocknroll" for around 30 years or more now..but they were for a breif 5 or 6 years an incredible band, one of the best, and exile on main street is one of their greatest this box should and could of been awesome, however it is a disgrace and definetly something ive already sold off as i dont want it in my collection..i actually hate this reissue..why??
a 30 minute dvd that is now released as a 151 minute dvd making this dvd a waste of time..FOR the money we deserve at least the full dvd not some 30 collection of one can argue against the fact that the stones are just ripping us off here
a petty shoddy book of familiar photos with little to none new notes revealing any new facts etc...probably the worst book ever put out on the stones..
the newly over dubbed tracks sound like eightiss the bonus disc is awful to
...possibly the worst box set ever released..a complete blatant rip off..compared it to the dylan beatles neil young etc boxes this is mick and the boys at their most corporate money crabbing worst..
their are hours of footage and genuine outatkes from exile on main street and none of it is here

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the top 10 albums of all time, 12 July 2008
this is such a beautiful beautiful album..odd..strange..spacey...and like no other record ive ever heard, im transfered to another place when i play this album..its like time stands still..its so captivation..peace and love flow throughout this album..there is a small number of my freinds who agree that this is simply one of the greatest lp,s of all time..along with pink moon...another green world..etc...i recall getting into when talking ablout the great albums of all time with a like minded music collector, from scotlamd..( im from melbourne) he mentioned that this is the greatest most beautiful lp..i went and got it..and totally agree.ive since played to numerous freinds who are just blown away by it..imagine the flaming lips..soft bulleten, recorded by robert wyatt in 1978..and there you have it

1.0 out of 5 stars please..this has to stop..the parties over, 28 May 2008
This review is from: Shine A Light (Audio CD)
OKAY iam a massive fan of all the early stones albums..but without jones..or taylor,,nicky hopkins..or stu or even wyman..they have beome a limp boring pretentious balls..and very fake..they are in it for the money..the ego..why do they do the same songs exactly the same way every tour???its boring..its awful to see.. WHAT HAPPENED??..... we celebrate the 30th year since the stones made a great album( some girls-which isnt really that good)..and the 35 year since there last great tour 1973 australia...iam a hardcore fan, yes i love them but the reality is theyve been a limp, shtcick, conservative, boring load of rubbish for way to long..some songs done over and over bill wymans book he tellingly states that in 1977 mick started listening to awful current disco records figuring out what direction the band needed to go in to make hits..and keith stopped caring.doesnt that say something?? the last time i saw the band i walked out totally hating the soulless francise that these guys have become...why is it that dylan, young ,waits, robert plant, levon helm.lenord cohen, johnny cash..all made brilliant albums in the last 20 years but we think its okay to accept this garbage..oh gee wiz they do CONNECTED..AND SHINE A not buy this...i give up..i hated it
