5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful and informative, 18 May 2013
I'm the mother of two autistic children and know Jeannie via her blog.
I found the book very interesting and insightful, as I do her blog posts,
Would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about living with autism.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page-turner, 5 Mar 2013
This review is from: Nightingale Woods (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed this book.
The first part is set in a diary format, written in such a way that it gets you used to the believable central characters very quickly and also wanting to know what's going to happen as the story progressed.
The second part is set some years later and again, told in such a way that you read through. page-turning, hoping for a happy ending for all.
Whether that happens I'm not saying. Recommended from me as is KB's previous book "Discovery at Rosehill".

5.0 out of 5 stars We loved this story!, 11 Jan 2013
Perfect for younger readers, this book uses felt-tip like illustrations and nice big text to tell the story. My daughter enjoyed finding the ladybird on each page.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great junior novel, 5 Jan 2013

My daughter loves the Madgascar films so I bought this to encourage her reading. It's a good read-through of the film for school children. Ideally could have included some pictures from the film rather than drawings.

I've been following the author on twitter for a while and reading her blogs so I really looked forward to reading her book, I wasn't disappointed. You will find romance, the after life and tragedy all contained within an unputdownable read. Fantastic twist at the end too. Definitely recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great holiday read, 14 Sep 2012

Loved this book and found it unputdownable. Central character very believable, if a little flighty! But you learn why. Refusal to conform and just being yourself is the message.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dysfunctionally quirky, 14 Sep 2012

I read this book in one sitting, always a good sign. Laugh out loud funny. The characters were wonderfully quirky, stuck in their own little worlds, with their own little routines and quirks.
Give it a try, you'll enjoy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it! You will laugh and cry with Darren, 18 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have been reading Darren's blogs via his twitter account for a while so was looking forward to reading his book. I wasn't disappointed. It is a very raw, honest account of his life following his wife's cancer diagnosis, death and subsequent life as a widower with two young children. Ignore the tawdry headlines in the press, read this book and appreciate what you have, as Darren illustrates it can all too quickly be taken away. Live and love life to the full.
