Great for baking with, adds a lovely rich flavour to gingerbread and banana bread. Wonderful on baked egg custard too, love the delicate caramel flavour. Just wish it was more affordable.

Essential reading for all who value freedom and democracy. This brilliantly researched and well written book is a real eye opener.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good buy, 14 Feb. 2015

Did not realise this was a watered down version, should have got the concentrate. Applying after watering is time consuming and fiddly, hard to gage the dosage and keep off leaves. The big bottle will not last long if you have more than a dozen plants; used nearly half after first use, not a good buy.

Bread Revolution
Bread Revolution
by Duncan Glendinning and Patrick Ryan
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £15.58

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 18 Dec. 2014
This review is from: Bread Revolution (Hardcover)
I was disappointed and then really annoyed by this book: it is pretentious, condescending (even 7 year olds would find the injunction to "Make this book your own" patronising), and tries desperately to be trendy (Britpop chef wannabes). The bread recipes are few: everyday white bread, hearty wholemeal, fragrant nettle & chive, potato & rosemary and local cheese loaf which take up 54 pages. These are needlessly padded out with advice on foraging (with lots of lovely photos) as well as some useful advice on ingredients, equipment and a "what went wrong" section. There are a few more bread/bun recipes scattered in the remaining 2/3rds of the book, among recipes for salads, terrine, curry, welsh rarebit (oh please!) etc etc (with yes, you guessed it, loads more lovely photos and helpful arrows).

The River Cottage Handbook No. 3: Bread by Daniel Stevens is far better, it is crammed full of recipes with no-nonsense advice. Also Bartinet's "Crust", which comes with an excellent video, for those wanting something more advanced. Bread Revolution looks like a poor juvenile attempt by comparison.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS is the book to get!, 18 Dec. 2014

THIS is the book I was looking for, it is perfect. It was third time lucky: the first I got was Bartinet's "Crust" which is good in many ways but all the recipes are somewhat complicated and take a long time; the second was Bread Revolution by Duncan Glendinning, Patrick Ryan which I found disappointing (don't want recipes for salads, salmon tartare or Bloody Mary shots, photos of unknown people or to be told to "Make this book your own"). This book is exactly what I want - a straight-forward, no nonsense book that explains the basics, with advice on equipment and ingredients, and LOADS of recipes for all kinds of breads from basic to fancy, as well as buns and biscuits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful stuff - handle with care!, 6 Dec. 2014

This review is from: Cinnamon Essential Oil
Decided to try this for a sinus infection after reading the review above. Realising that I had made a mistake in choosing Couscous (a US supplier, still waiting for it to arrive 2 after weeks), I ordered some from Sri Lanka via a certain auction site and got it just three days later.

Started with 2 drops mixed into coconut oil and was taken aback by the strong taste, felt my mouth and throat burning even after downing a glass of water. Put it in fruit juice the next day with same result, it was a real struggle to finish it. Then tried using an empty gelatin capsule with some coconut oil, much better way to take it; felt the heat from it after a while, so took some kefir in case it gave me stomach upset. Best taken with a meal, gave me heartburn when I took it on an empty stomach.

After just 3 days I can feel the benefit: breathing through my nose is a lot easier and the slight pressure I felt has gone. Will continue for a bit longer using just 1 drop a day, that seems to be more than enough for me. This is certainly a good weapon to fight infections, I shall use it next time I feel a cold coming on.

Peppersmith tingz Strawberry & Vanilla 15g
Peppersmith tingz Strawberry & Vanilla 15g

2.0 out of 5 stars Seriously overpriced, 26 Nov. 2014
Should have looked more closely at the details, 15g is very small, which makes the price ludicrously exorbitant. Pleasant but unexciting flavour, much like a bland milkshake. Won't be buying again, total rip off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old friends rejuvenated, 16 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had some vintage friends that needed re-stuffing, their old innards (probably kapok) had perished and the were shedding a lot of dust. This did a grand job, was amazed to see how much there was. Great results, Eeore and Humpty now looking rejuvenated. Will also use it for cushion stuffing, gives a firm and very soft result, very pleased
