I'd been looking forward to reading Ecko Rising for a good while having heard whispers of it quite a bit before release. It opens with a gritty futuristic image of London then once you've got to grips with the world Ecko inhabits the book then turns itself completely inside out into a fantasy adventure not quite like any other I've ever read. It makes great use of the real/not real concept while we get to grips with the world along with Ecko. It's violent, funny, original, hugely gripping and really well paced. It does leave a few loose threads (quite deliberately in my eyes) which hint at bigger things to come, whilst still tying up the main body of the story in a very satisfying way indeed.
I loved it and would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading
