This review is from: Supporters Air Horn (Toy)
Dead cheap, very loud, and did everything I needed for a weekend. It even survived to be used again. It falls apart easily but is just easily put back together again.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, 16 Jun 2014

If you want something cheap for occasional use and are not to fussed about the sound quality then these will be OK, But they are built down to a price and feel as if they could break at any minute.

1.0 out of 5 stars Have you seen the price?, 13 Nov 2013
14.95 for the paperback and 9 for the hardback or Kindle? What the hell is going on here? I like Clarkson books but not at that price. I will wait until the little lady from the book club brings them into our staff room at work and sells then for 3, probably about next April.

Dog On The Highway (Ant and Cleo)
Dog On The Highway (Ant and Cleo)
Price: 0.77

5.0 out of 5 stars The story just keeps getting better and better., 29 Aug 2013
The story seamlessly unfolds from the previous books and engages you right from the beginning. The introduction of relationships between some of the secondary characters elevates this to a new height, and I literally couldn't put it down. It would be a good place to end the series, but I really hope that he doesn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best one yet., 25 Aug 2013

Like all good books the hints were there all along, in plain sight, but it keeps you wondering what is going on right up until the end when it all fell into place.
I know this was intended originally for kids, but then so was Harry Potter, and on the whole I prefer this.
I am not sure about another Ant and Cleo story, for my money the next step should be chasing a film or TV series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stopped reading halfway through., 19 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted to like this book, many of my favorite bands were mentioned in the release notes, but it wasn't to be.
It started well enough but then there were a few comments which didn't ring true. Comments about DikMIk and Moog synthesizers, which he never owned, referring to Dark Side of the Moon as a largely electronic album, which it isn't and side comments about other bands make you start to wonder where the author got his information. Was it all first hand or scavenged from the web without checking?
Then personal comments started about bands the author does not seem to like, Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer etc. at which point for me it stopped be a history and more a personal crusade by somebody whose tastes I don't share.
I stopped reading it halfway through and deleted it. If it had been a paper copy I would have put it on e-bay by now.

Sky Spy: From Six Miles High to Hitler's Bunker
Sky Spy: From Six Miles High to Hitler's Bunker
by Ray Holmes
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars An insipational insight to the life of a WW2 pilot., 30 Dec 2012
Even hollywood was say that they couldn't make a film of this, nobody would beleive that so much could happen to one person.
This was an extremely easy book to read, I truly couldn't put down and stayed up into the early hours for many nights until it was complete. The style makes it much easier to read than many autobiograhies, probably because of Rays background as a journalist, and I instantly warmed to this quiet well mannered pilot, who would have had to be played by Kenneth Moore in a film version.
It traces teh authors love of AIrcraft from his days a a voulanteer before teh outbreak of WW2, through his time as a front line pilot in the Battle of Britain, his service in Russia with the first delivery of Hurricanes, and follows his progress as a flying instructor. He ends up flying solo over enemy territory taking photographs og V2 and V1 rocket sites, and being chased my Me-262 jets, and shortly after the war becomes a personal pilot for Winston Churchill, right up to the Potdam conference.
The end was a bit of a cold wake up. I have often wondered what it must be like for somebody like a pilot to just stop. One day you are flying round the skies at hundreds of miles an hour, in something yo could never own by yourslef, then then next you will never do it again. How do yo live with that knowledge?
One minor observation, these books work better on paper than kindle. I love my kindle, it never leaves my side, but late on a foul winters night, a paper copy of a book like this is a far better way of being transported back in time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Would read it again., 15 Feb 2012

I really enjoyed reading this. It was put together and the articles were certainly inspiring, however it also made me realise how much cheaper the material for these projects is in the US, especially if you have to import them :-(
