5.0 out of 5 stars Build quality is fine, and I could wear them all day, 30 Dec. 2014

I thought I had some reference headphones until I bought these. I can hear production nuances I never heard before on tracks I'm very familiar with. They are absolutely superb and now really affordable. Build quality is fine, and I could wear them all day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fairly good, 2 May 2013

This has a great adhesion to glass, and is easy to release using a cam clamp type lever to release the vacuum. The ball joint is good and clamps tightly. Also, the claw grip is good, firmly gripping a samsung galaxy S2 (about the same weight as an iphone4...)

The product is let down by one thing: The arm from the sucker to the ball joint is just a tiny bit flexible. In a static environment its okay but in a moving car with a phone or satnav attached, the phone starts to oscillate and there is little you can do about it. The trick is to mount the unit to the window with the phone in place, and make sure the phone is resting on the dashboard or window pillar. Its a shame really. An otherwise brilliantly executed product is let down on this one point.

If you're the manufacturer of this product may I suggest using POM for the ball joint arm, and/or thickening the section or ribbing it out to stiffen it up?

Peter Kearns appeals to me in the same way that 10CC, Andrew Gold and other top songwriting / recording acts of the 1970s and 80s did, but with pin sharp "perfect" recording. He has a greeat voice, a range of subjects other than "love", hes a brilliant engineer and virtuoso musician. The world should keep their eyes on this guy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the bags, 11 Dec. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this backpack after a long search through those available on Amazon and elsewhere. The range of bags for 17.3" laptops is nowhere near as big as for 15.6" models.

Anyway. This bag is just the best, at last, a properly designed bag, not just for the computer but for all the things you take with you, like a power supply. There's a special padded pocket by the handle that holds the PSU and mains cables where they JUST fit snugly, and don't interfere with anything else. There's loads of useful, well designed pockets such that this bag's layout cannot be faulted.

The straps have a suspension system that works. Hang it off one shoulder and it feels heavy when full. Put both straps on and it seems to disappear!

Build quality is brilliant. I expect it to last for years. I got caught in a heavy shower one day and the zips didn't let any water in.

Do these people make holdalls as well? I want one!

Samsung Executive Leather Case for Galaxy S 2 - Black
Samsung Executive Leather Case for Galaxy S 2 - Black

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit thicker and heavier than expected, 10 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can't fault the quality of this case, it is perfect and does just what Samsung's description says. It's like a fat cat banker's cheque book cover. However, it seems to have almost doubled the thickness and weight of my phone, and one of the reasons for getting the SII was that it is very slim and light. If you want opulence, buy this; If you want to retain the slim, lightweight feel of your phone, don't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Properly built, sturdy, 10 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This part is made by the original equipment manufacturer and as such I expected it to be perfect. I was not disappointed. I have previously had an "aftermarket" phone holder that was okay but with compromises. The Samsung holder is in a different league. The vacuum suction is so strong you could probably pull out the windscreen with it, and the business end - the bit that holds the phone - is a perfect fit. Its finished in a combination of matt black and piano gloss black. It costs a little bit more but it will outlast the phone. Definitely glad I got this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice quality product, 15 Mar. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a well made device for holding the HTC hero. It fits very snugly around the phone, and firmly grips a vane of my VW's driver side vent. The only criticism I have is that it requires a bit of a technique to remove the phone from the holder, because, while the holder is firmly secured to one vane, the lower part of it is not secured. This is okay in normal use (no vibration etc), but removing the phone tends to tilt the holder, stressing the vent vane.

This is not a criticism of the holder, but the HTC Hero itself, once it is in the holder. I'm new to this phone having previously enjoyed a Nokia N95. I am really disappointed by the Hero's lack of voice dialling and lack of ability to dump the address book to my bluetooth voice activated handsfree kit (Spuertooth Voice). Without these key functions the Hero is only suitable for "answer only" while on the move. Not very heroic...

Employment Law: an adviser's handbook
Employment Law: an adviser's handbook

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, Comprehensible, Concise, 22 April 2009

This is another excellent book from LAG. It sits perfectly alongside Cunningham and Reed's "Employment Tribunal Claims" also from LAG. While the latter helps newcomers enormously with tactics, Employment Law - an Adviser's Handbook goes into much more detail about employment law itself and how it has been and should be interpreted. It is written in an easy to understand style. No adviser's handbook would be complete without checklists to use when giving advice. This has just that. The lists are great for advisers as well as litigants in person wanting to make sure they have thought of everything

(I make my living as an employment law adviser)
