I don't usually read books before seeing the movie, but this story has Movie Script written all over it. I seriously believe there are 'disappearers' like Max. Really enjoyed the naughty scenes...

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite useful, 8 Dec 2012
I was sick of the clutter in my apartment and got this ebook. While it has some very good ideas on clutter elimination, I found out that ithe mindset behind decluttering is even more important. There is a good chapter on this in the ebook. This is a well-written and short guide to get you started.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning to kindle users, 19 Nov 2011
I think the content of the book is great (I own a hardback copy already), and wanted to have something easier to refer to on my iphone using the kindle app when shopping for the ingredients at the supermarket - but to my dismay I found that this kindle version itself is useless for this purpose and a total rip-off! It hasn't been properly formatted for the kindle, and essentially each page is like an image, so you have to try and zoom in and out in order to read the pages and navigate (plus the writing is still to small to read on the kindle). Additionally, as the kindle doesn't recognize the text, it's impossible to search the recipes by keyword, and there are no hyper-links, so you have no functioning table of contents or index. All in all, it is extremely awkward to use on the kindle or iphone kindle app. You have been warned!!!

News of a Kidnapping
News of a Kidnapping
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars flawed, 6 Feb 2005
This review is from: News of a Kidnapping (Paperback)
Garcia Marquez returns to his original vocation as a journalist for this book, mixing factual reporting with narrative in documenting a series of kidnappings that took place during the turbulent period in Colombia at the beginning of the 90s.
It's an interesting idea to merge the two styles, providing the oppertunity to gain a deeper understanding of the reality that the victims had to endure and the events that occured in the wider context of the kidnappings; However, there was a sense of detachment throughout the whole book with the characters, who never really seemed to come to life....
Nevertheless, the book does go some way in conveying the complex political situations that occured during that time in an understable way.
