1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money!, 21 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Item was not in a satisfactory condition and was bent in one area. Ridiculously expensive for the cheap quality of the item. Also this item arrived directly from China - you can probably find the item much cheaper from elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Famous Five!, 6 Jan. 2012
This box set is stunning! All 21 books together in one set. All the books have brilliant artwork depicting the Famous Five on the covers and i really couldn't be happier with my purchase. Having grown up with the famous five it's the perfect set to pass down to the generations to come, so they can follow George, Richard, Julian, Anne and Timothy's adventures :) Highly recommended!

I bought this Miss Piggy bag for my little sister for Christmas and she loved it. It's made of good, durable material, has a wonderful picture on it and is the perfect size for her school textbooks, lunch etc. Really happy with my purchase and i believe this will certainly be used for a long time to come. Would recommend it, great price for a great item :)

5.0 out of 5 stars TOP 'Top Trumps', 6 Jan. 2012
This pack of Top Trumps cards follows the usual format of the Top Trumps Packs and is quite possibly one of my favourite packs i have ever purchased. Each card has a great picture and is ranked my Believe It or Not, Yuck Factor, Try This at Home, Value and Creativity. Each card also has a small paragraph telling you about the person/item depicted in the card such as the crystal mini cooper, The funny face woman, Mr Slingy, the headless chicken. Would highly recommend them!

5.0 out of 5 stars A little Gem!, 6 Jan. 2012
Having decided to learn Russian, i was looking for something really basic to give me a good grounding in the language before buying a pack such as Colloquial Russian which is quite heavy on grammar from the beginning. I bought "Teach Yourself: Read and Write Russian Script" and "Teach Yourself: Getting Started in Russian Book/CD Pack" to get me started.

What i like about this book is that it doesn't try and get you to learn the whole Russian Alphabet in one go, rather it's split up into 4 chapters and each chapter includes lots of vocab comprising the letters you have just learnt. There are also lots of little exercises so you can practice what you've learnt as you go along. At the end of each chapter there is an end of unit review which summarises what you've learnt in each chapter, tips and some questions to test yourself.
As well as teaching you what the printed script looks like, there's also a few chapters on what the handwritten script looks like which is followed by a few chapters of exercises so you can practice reading and writing the script.

I'm very happy that i made the decision to purchase this book to get me started on my Russian language learning journey. The only negative thing that i could write would be that i bought the book for £11.16 and the book is only a paperback and 159 pages long which although a 5* book, seems a bit expensive but it really is worth it to to get such a good grounding in the language. I do tend to usually buy books that have good reviews and at the time of writing, this book didn't have one, however i made the decision to purchase the book after using the book preview. Take a look and see what you think. Definitely a 5* book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!!!, 14 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Wicca Handbook: (Paperback)
This book is in one word ... SUPERB!!! It is perfect for somebody knew to witchcraft or has an interest in the craft and also to people who have been in the craft for many years as it is an invaluable reference text. I do have to disagree with some of the reviews on here however: 1) yes the author does reference egyptian deities which she clearly states at the beginning of the book as she is an eclectic pagan who worships gods/goddesses from different pantheons and 2) i have to dispute the reviewer who states after several months of practising magic he found the book no longer of any use re correspondences, good for him if he knows all the correspondences off by heart however for many of us we like to cross-reference items and have a good reference book - this is it!!! Chock full of all sorts of useful content!

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent little book!, 8 Nov. 2008
Having owned and very highly rated 'The Wiccan Bible' from this series i thought 'The Spells Bible' would be equally as good and i wasn't disappointed, there are some rather good spells in this book.
The book is colourful and laid out well, making this book easy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars HUGE book!, 8 Nov. 2008
This is an unbelievably huge book which is chock full of content.
I am a Wiccan and bought this book as use as a reference text for my spells and rituals however upon reviewing the book i feel it is best used as a basis for making your own spells as the majority of the spells in the book are, i feel not very useful on their own. 5000 sounds like ALOT of spells, which it is, however there are many, many 'spells' which are one-liners and seem to state a belief as opposed to being a spell i.e. Birth Chamber Protection Spell with Fir Needles: Burn silver fir needles during childbirth to protect mother and child and Boat Protection Spell Rope: Pass the entire boat through a rope circle for safety and protection.

Despite the above i would reccomend it to anybody with an interest in magic and/or history as it is only £13.00 from Amazon and for such a big book it is worth it. It is only meant as a reference text and spans back a few thousand years when folk believed putting an axe under a pregnant woman's bed would ease childbirth - if you remember that whilst reading the book and come with an open mind then you'll be happy.

The Real Witches' Handbook: A Complete Introduction to the Craft
The Real Witches' Handbook: A Complete Introduction to the Craft
by Kate West
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars The REAL Witches Handbook!!!, 8 Nov. 2008
This book is quite positively brilliant! Kate speaks to you as a friend, at no point in the text does she speak down to you, the books purpose is not just to educate the new witch/pagan/wiccan but Kate does a good job educating non-believers as to what the religion is, who they worship and what they are and are not about i.e. devil-worship. I particularly enjoyed the section about the 8 Sabbats which i found to be highly informative. Whether you are new to Witchcraft and looking to be educated in the ways of the craft or somebody who has been following the craft for a number of years and would like a text to go over the basics or even a non-believer wanting to know more about witchcraft, then this book is for you - can't wait to buy Kate West's other books, good job Kate!
