5.0 out of 5 stars For germ-free happiness and household harmony!, 30 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I buy these because of several reasons - I have a teenage son who has mates over and takes food up to his room and I ended up having to search constantly for cutlery which made me cross and gave me the cringes cos I have OCD . So now I buy disposable for him to use. Its called 'picking your battles'. It made me feel guilty at first but now I just feel happy when I look at my full, sparkling clean cutlery drawer and absence of rows with my son! Theyre also good for work, travel etc or when you want to grab a yogurt at lunchtime keep a couple of spoons in your bag!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally reliable and this big bottle is a bargain, 30 Aug 2014

Great price for such a large bottle and I go through gallons of MoM so its very useful! Seriously for anyone with heartburn and indigestion - dont waste your time and money on the little chewy mints and tablets - Milk of Magnesia is totally guaranteed to work in my experience. Great for heartburn cos it seems to instantly soothe on its way down. Brilliant for biliousness/nausea/upset tummy. And if you take a higher dose you can use it as a laxative, with equally gentle, reliable, soothing results.

I have IBS and have tried everything from natural herbs, colon cleansers, senna, peppermint oil, probiotics, psyllium husks, aloe vera ... you name it. The only things that I found to work were probiotics and Milk of Mag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good size container, 30 Aug 2014

Great large size tub, big enough for a small tree or shrub, climber, rose, bay/laurel standard etc. Equally good for a generous bedding display - this summer mine had 3 large geranium plugs, 2 medium sized verbena plugs and 3 or 4 medium size trailing lobelia plants per tub. - with no overcrowding and plenty of room for growth, theyve turned into really striking displays. And such a brilliant price! Easy to push drainage holes in bottom using a screwdriver or scissors. and surprisingly easy to lift and move around even when planted up

3.0 out of 5 stars Very soothing - if you can work the applicator!, 15 Aug 2014
This review is from: Hycosan Extra (Personal Care)
Love the actual drops - but not so keen on the packaging. The idea is that you dont touch your eye or the dropper, meaning the pack lasts longer once opened. HOWEVER... you need to push quite hard on the bottom of the pack and that is not easy whilst trying to aim it in the right place, the leaflet says support the hand thats holding the pack with your other hand - but if you have arthritic fingers or carpal tunnel syndrome, ie poor muscle tone in wrist/hand/fingers - then that is very very difficult. I end up having to waste drops by missing my eyes, because I need both hands just to push down the 'plunger' thingie.

So, good idea, but maybe need to have a look at doing an easier pack for older/disabled people?Because a lot of people have dry eyes specifically because they have arthritis or other auto immune disorders!

I will, however, persevere - because the drops are really good once you get them in! One drop is all you need - very soothing, lasts a long time, no sting (as no preservatives, so suitable for long term use in Dry Eye Syndrome, Sjogrens, RA, etc).

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely scent and very fresh, 15 Aug 2014

I am quite addicted to this fragrance - which is odd, cos I don't usually like Lavender that much. But this is lovely; warm, fresh and floral, but also quite 'clean' and definitely not at all heady or too sweet. It fills my sitting room very pleasantly when put on Maximum. Like it so much I've put it on Sub+Save.

Aiding and Abetting
Aiding and Abetting
by Muriel Spark
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly sharp and enjoyable, 15 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Aiding and Abetting (Paperback)
I really enjoy Spark - she is rapidly becoming one of my favourite writers. I hadn't read her for about 20 years and am finding that now I am older I understand her - she's sly, subtle, vicious and very very funny.

This is an especially enjoyable example of her style - an immediately absorbing and irresistible concept: in Paris, a psychiatrist (with skeletons in her own closet), finds herself with 2 patients claiming each to be Lord Lucan.

Spark is enjoyable for her concise descriptions, believable characters, excellent dialogue (her trademark) and in this book, sharp insights and savage digs at psychiatry and the English class system, not to mention money, religion and relationships.

But this isn't a dry, wordy, serious book - it doesn't read like high concept Literature. It reads like a page-turner - and is a very fast read because, quite simply, you want to find out what happens.

'What happens' is a scream.... Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant idea for spontaneous travel or just to keep in your bag!, 15 Aug 2014
Now these are a handy idea! - Really good for festivals, camping, or to keep in your bag for impromptu overnight stays... Not to mention a quick and easy freshen up at any other time.
They're small, light, shorter than a usual brush, and each one is individually and simply wrapped. So they fit easily in pockets, handbag sections, makeup bags etc.
The inclusion of xylitol is a good idea too, as it is thought to have excellent oral health qualities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to take and effective for bloating and trapped wind, 15 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very useful if you suffer from IBS, trapped wind, bloating, and other digestive discomforts. It joins all the bubbles of gas together in order to expel them easily.....

In my experience they are usually expelled in an upwards direction so there's no embarrassment! (But if you're in agony with trapped wind, or bloated and miserable, whichever way the wind exits, its a small price for relief!)

These are quite pleasant to take, too - they're a minty chewable tablet, so you can pop some in your pocket/handbag and take them whenever you need to - without the need for a drink to wash down a capsule. And they work just as well as other brands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, effective solution to bloating, trapped wind and abdominal discomfort, 15 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very useful product to keep in the medicine cabinet if you have IBS or suffer from a temperamental digestive system!

It sorts out wind, bloating and sometimes even slow digestion/nausea. It sort of joins up all the little bubbles of gas in your tummy til they're big enough to expel - in either direction.....!
But fortunately (in my experience) its more often 'upwards' than downwards, and its not violent or embarrassing. And if you're suffering with IBS or bloating, or in pain with trapped wind, then an attack of the burps is nothing to worry about, if it solves the discomfort - and Windsetlers do so, reliably, quickly and pretty cheaply too. - certainly more cheaply than Deflatine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good mouthwash and cheaper than the named brands, 15 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Perfectly good and inexpensive substitute for Corsodyl - containing the same active ingredient. I begrudge paying inflated prices for name-brands these days, especially years after the original R+D/patent. This does just as well and is especially good at soothing mouth ulcers or sore throats, with the traditional 'aniseed' type flavour that I prefer to the usual, sickly spearmint flavours.
