Stunning piece of music from Jazz pianist Jessica Lauren, a tune that totally catches you from the moment the first chords are struck on the piano. Awesome tune, a must for Jazz collectors.

A blinding bit of jazz Fusion on this rare album on the Catalyst label from 1976 by saxophonist Hadley Caliman, unfortunately its rarity on vinyl really pushes the price up with the CD also selling for well over 300.

Contains the excellent spiritual track I've Known Rivers from what is probably one of Gary's more progressive jazz albums, heavily influenced by John Coltrane.

Another great release of up front soul from Expansion records, the CD starts with Big Brooklyn Red's Taking it to far, with a nice sample of Lowrel's Mellow Mellow(worth the purchase for this track alone) followed by the producer with the Midas touch: Soulpersona's You did it again, the good groove continues with R Kelly, Kenny Thomas and Cool Million. The album ends with a remix of one of the best jazz tunes of 2010 Gregory Porter's 1960 What.

Easily my favourite Ramsay Lewis album, contains the excellent track: Brazilica, a mellow funky jazz groover with a Latin tinge. Vinyl copies are expensive and hard to find, Japanese import CD's also sell for up to 100.
