5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, 31 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Item excellently packaged arrived in excellent condition. A little on the light side for stainless steel but easier to manage when filled because of it. Surprised to fing that if filled to the top of the filter it holds two full standard sized mugs and 3/4 of a third. Very very pleased with the item especially the loose leaf filter which also stops the tea bags blocking the spout holes. Amazed that it pours better than my very expensive larger pot. Excellent value for money

Le Creuset Stainless Steel Whistling Kettle, 1.8 Litre (discontinued by manufacturer)
Le Creuset Stainless Steel Whistling Kettle, 1.8 Litre (discontinued by manufacturer)

5.0 out of 5 stars The king of hob kettles, 17 July 2011
I was looking for an attractive kettle for a gas hob for a friend. It was to replace a succession of s/s kettles with and without whistle which have been unable to withstand any length of time without buckling out of shape or melting and so becoming unusable in a very short space of time. This kettle is a good size - not too big. It is a good weight can still be lifted one handed when full of water. Has a good thickness base so should not buckle. And lastly is a surprisingly beautiful shape. Everyone who has seen it wants one but I cannot say yet that it will last the test of year's use on my gas cooker but it does appear so far to be going to do so. Not very cheap but certainly worth it's price so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stitch these Samplers, 17 July 2011
I bought this book to give me some ideas when making up my own sampler designs. The examples in the book are so good that I have given up designing my own and am doing ones out of the book instead. This is not quite what I intended to do but with the longer summer days I would rather be sitting outside stitching while the world goes by, than beavering away inside with pencil and paper or on the computer.
If you are looking for a dictionary of basic design shapes this is not the book for you. If you want some different ideas then this will give you them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tea Cosy for a Dog Lover, 17 July 2011
This is an excellent teas cosy as it covers small and large teapots. I is easy to wash and dry so keeps nice for longer. The pattern is very good and makes it a useful and unusual present for a dog lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cryptic Crosswords, 17 July 2011
I love doing cryptic crosswords and these books are just great. This edition is every bit as good as the previous Daily Telegraph ones I have had. Would reccommend it for yourself or as a present for another addict.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Very Best Crosswords, 16 April 2011
This is yet another excellent book of cryptic crosswords. The book is exactly what it says so what else can I add except they are just as difficult as the ones in the last book. Just what I wanted to exercise the old grey matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Transends Language Barrier, 4 Feb 2011
This review is from: Cars [DVD] (2006) (DVD)
I purchased this for my 8 year-old grand-daughter, who now lives in Cyprus, after enjoying it myself over the holiday period on TV.
She thought it was really good. However, when the neighbouring Greek speaking children came round they were also enthralled and keep coming back and asking to watch it again. The fact that it is in English which they do not understand does not seem to make one bit of difference to their enjoyment. So this would also be a good film for younger children who perhaps do not have much language skills themselves.
