2.0 out of 5 stars They should be more specific about the age this is ..., 25 Oct. 2015

They should be more specific about the age this is for. It is on the small side for my son who is 2.5 (95cm tall) and not chunky by any means. Headpiece is way too small - it doesn't fit his head and he can't get it done up under his chin. Material is quite flimsy so you need to consider what your child will wear under it.

Having tried just about every kind of trap going, this is the simplest but most effective. Not pretty to handle but they work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book - lots of beautiful room ideas but also some sensible advice, 23 Oct. 2015

Lovely book - lots of beautiful room ideas but also some sensible advice, like having toddler beds and trying to keep toys and toy storage out of bedrooms. Some of the ideas aren't that realistic for UK audiences because homes are smaller - eg the permanent present wrapping station set-up - but still nice to look admire.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hmm, not worth it, 29 Jun. 2015

The removable bristle heads are poor quality and wear out way too fast, so you have to keep buying more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it., 29 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very very cheap looking, and too small. Consists of very small head piece made of stretch fabric which didn't fit my two year old, and a sleeveless tunic. The head is off-white, but the ears are all pink, which looks weird. The ears don't have any wiring so they just flop down at the sides. The tunic doesn't have a tail. Do not waste your money on this. The only good thing is that the seller does very quick delivery, so maybe choose something else from them instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great as a bath toy or with sand, 22 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My 2 year old likes it a lot - he is very intrigued by pouring water in the top and making the wheels go around. I like the fact that it's of good quality, robust plastic.
However, I bought it to keep him entertained in the bath and it isn't a very good bath toy. It's not stable enough to stand up by itself in the bath - it keeps falling over backwards and he gets frustrated. His legs also get mixed up with the sticking out bits on the front of the toy's legs, which also causes it to fall over. It also can't hook or stick on to anything - what would be really good is if there were a big sucker on the back which could stick it to the side of the bath. Also, in the bath, the bathwater covers the bottom wheels so they can't be used.

We also tried it on the beach with sand. I can report that it won't work with sand unless the sand is totally dry, very very fine, has no stones, and you don't put too much in at once. 90% of sand doesn't meet this description.

2.0 out of 5 stars I live in London and I can't get hold of things like Peruvian purple potatoes, 4 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Recipes look lovely but very unrealistic for small children. For starters, the ingredients are almost impossible to find! I live in London and I can't get hold of things like Peruvian purple potatoes. Many of these dishes would be phenomenally expensive to make for just one child, particularly when there's a risk that the whole lot will be thrown on the floor. I've only made one or two of the recipes and my child wouldn't eat any of them. If you're looking for a French baby cookbook I prefer Jenny Carenco's Bebe Gourmet.

Fantastic - really hard for them to take these off. Snood is great for keeping out draughts round the neck, as well as keeping the ears warm.

2.0 out of 5 stars this is a collection of relatively easy to make recipes which toddlers will definitely eat, 21 Dec. 2014
On the positive side, this is a collection of relatively easy to make recipes which toddlers will definitely eat.
However I can't give it more than two stars for two reasons:
1) the recipe quantities are too big (mostly they make 4-6 portions). It assumes you have a big family or you're a childminder cooking for several toddlers. If you follow the instructions you wind up with loads of waste, because most recipes are not suitable for freezing.
2) there is WAY too much sugar in these recipes. I was really shocked, actually. Even the savoury recipes have multiple sweet additives - one recipe requires mango chutney, apricot jam AND honey in it. Most of the tomato sauces say to add a spoonful of neat sugar. I am not really surprised toddlers love these recipes, because they are so sweet.
If I were buying again, I'd get Gina Ford's Baby and Toddler cookbook instead, which is healthier and has more realistic quantities.

5.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile investment of time, 10 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As another reviewer has said, the book undersells itself as a manual for shorter meetings (although such is the pain of long meetings, I can understand why the title was chosen...). What it really is, is a formula for starting to address all kinds of difficult and high stakes issues, in business life but also personal life. When I started reading this book I had been wrestling for weeks with a seemingly intractable problem with somebody - by chapter two I was beginning to see a way to approach solving it, which stood a lot more chance of success than anything I'd tried to date.
In a business context, this book will be particularly useful for people working in account management, bus-dev or sales, where you often only have one shot to get a result from a meeting. It's a great relief that the book doesn't ask you to psycho-analyse the person or people you are communicating with - it's incredibly hard to do this accurately AND tailor your approach accordingly on the hoof as conventional sales training would have you do. In Talk Lean, it's a simple one-size-fits-all.
I agree with the reviewer who said that some of the conversation examples are rather cringe-y - I wrote "yuk" in the margin besides one of them! - but the guiding principles are so clearly expressed in the text that it's very easy to think of better examples yourself, or to imagine how you would make them your own.
