Dreadful, ineffective and not recommended, 2 Jun 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I wish there was a no star option because this product honestly deserves it. I got it to use on my boyfriends back before we went on holiday. I normally use the Boots cold wax strips and they're great so I'm not unfamiliar with the technique and I've used the heated wax roll-ons myself before (friend has a salon). TIMING - No stars: First of all it says the wax will heat in 20 mins - not true - it takes at least 40 minutes from cold and every time you unplug to use it cools down and takes another 5 minutes to warm back up again properly. USAGE: No stars. The cord on the product is too short to keep it plugged in while you use it. The stand is flimsy and knocks over as you try to put the heated wax holder back on to it. the bottom of the holder is round - I can see no reason why it couldn't have been flat and you could have just stood it up on that. WAX: Less than NO stars. The wax is simply horrible it's bright pink and very, very sticky (in a thick, glutinous way that good wax shouldn't be) - it even smells weird and and excess is very, very difficult to remove - unlike normal wax which just wipes straight off - this requires a lot of rubbing with the included wipes - which on already sensitive skin is just adding insult to injury. And finally it simply doesn't remove the hair - it takes about the half the hair off on each 'pass' Completely useless. I don't recommend it at all.

Absolutely brilliant - I was amazed at how effective it was, 23 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I really didn't expect much from this product and was simply gobsmacked at how effective it was. I requested it because I have a pure wool rug that I have been trying to get cleaned locally for over year. Everyone I have asked has done that sucking-in-air-over-their-teeth thing and then quoted a price that was more than the rug cost when I bought it. It's not a particularly special piece - I'm just fond of it and it was filthy. When I saw this advertised I thought "Sod it - I'm just going to have a go myself" and I did. I cleaned it in two halves and I've uploaded a photo to show the difference that just one application made. I eventually gave it two applications all over and 3 on some of the stains - but I do stress it was filthy - the original warm brown beige of the background had turned a grubby grey. I estimate that there is enough foam left to do several other rugs or my lounge carpet. The brush thing clipped together easily and worked perfectly. it IS really important to shake it well before you use it though. (I forgot once - it makes a mess). Just a tip - Personally I found that depressing the trigger as I pulled the brush back towards me and then rubbing the foam into the carpet on the forwards stroke worked best for me. Also one astonishing thing was how good the brush was - i removed a LOAD and really I mean a lot of cat hair form the brush each time I cleaned it and my cat has been dead for 8 years now - which I expect means I need to replace my vacuum cleaner - but it was impressive how deep the brush got into the pile. I recommend it highly

Seemed helpful but in practise I'm struggling to implement it, 23 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I should begin by saying that I feel that I'm at fault here not the book. The book was light, funny and extensive in the advice it gave I requested it because of the trouble I'm having with a particular team member. Working as part of a team can be difficult if one member is on another path to everyone else. However the person I had hoped it would helped me to deal with seemed to be such a mix of the different personality types that are covered - that for all it seemed a helpful read, I'm not sure I shall be able to change anything as a result of it. I have tried.

Good to mix with protein drinks and smoothies - but bottle leaks, 25 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
This is coconut water - by that I mean you're going to get exactly what you expect. The reason I've only given it 3 stars when the product itself deserves more is that the bottle cap design is flawed and leaks once opened. For me at least this meant I had to decant it before going to the gym etc. I think it had very slightly higher carbs than my usual brand - but I also think it tasted marginally better. Just a tip - I used up some of the contents because the bottles were leaking all over my fridge by using them instead of milk or water for protein drinks - it was a very nice addition ;-)

If you're new to the Workplace this might be the one for you, 25 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Honestly I think the title says it all. This was not helpful for me. However I passed this book on to the daughter of a friend who is 22 years old and starting her first office-based job after graduation and thought it was very helpful. She felt it would help her feel less swamped and as she has never given a single thought to time-management past 'essay crises' it was the perfect book for her. If you work away from the office, from home or if you've looked into TM and already have any simple strategies of your own or have been on any courses - even one of the basic ones I would say you won't learn anything from this one. It's also heavily laden with American jargon (which doesn't bother me - but if you hate that - be aware). To be fair it really was very well received by a beginner - she not only read it - she passed it on to a friend in the same situation who loved the section on time-wasting meetings! By the same token though the book blurb doesn't really make it clear that those beginners are the perfect market for the book.

Good, funny but a little too long, 21 Mar 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I enjoyed this but honestly I feel that it could have been better edited. Losing 80 pages would have improved it a lot - and got it 5*. That said - if you're interested in the early days of Google I read stories in here that I have never seen anywhere else. (Sergey and the cow suit - was a classic) It does evoke the early atmosphere of working at Google wonderfully and I passed it on to a Geeky friend who actually gave it 5*

It's OK but it won't replace my Wilkinson Sword Intuition, 21 Mar 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
A few of years ago a friend recommended a new style of razor to me and after poo-pooing it a bit I finally gave in and tried it after she gave me one as a gag gift for my birthday. It was absolutely amazing and really made my life easier and completely stopped me ripping my legs to bits (I am a bit of a Klutz with a razor) and I've used it ever since and it was also made by Wilkinson Sword (Intuition). So I was actually eager to try this - expecting something terrific. This one to be honest was a disappointment. It just does exactly what you would expect from a Gillette Venus - which it resembles closely, except it's more expensive. I'm sorry to be negative - perhaps the fact that I had high hopes for it is making me more critical - but it's just an average women's razor - I didn't notice any difference at all from the '5 blades'. I did manage to cut myself - I'm not good with a razor - but I never cut myself with the intuition. And the moisture-strip-thingy was completely useless compared to the built in shaving cream on my existing WS Intuition. And the cream stuff in the moisture strip was messy and leaked or didn't come out at all. If you're actually looking for a different razor I can highly recommend Wilkinson Sword Intuition Plus Sensitive Razor Blades 3 Pack as the best thing to use in shower I ever found. (Although I usually buy mine in Boots as they're often on offer/cheaper). Now that truly is a different womens' razor from WS and I still really love mine - perhaps even more after I tried this thing!

Really only does fit the baby kindle - but does that well, 24 Jan 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
When I ordered this it stated that it fitted the kindle (non-keyboard) and the touch. I have both. In actual fact it doesn't fit the touch at ALL and I assume that's why the description has now been changed. I took a couple of photos to show exactly what it looks like on both of them in case that might help someone else on, what seems to me to be the never-ending quest for a perfect cover for my Kindle. Don't think - oh well it might fit my touch - it really doesn't if you check the photo. Pros: The fit on the standard kindle is excellent The non slip back is fab if you ever read with your kindle balanced on your leg or on the duvet cover - it really helps to keep it in place. The cover appears to make the kindle feel 'less fragile' Cons: It makes pressing the page change bezels quite hard work - I actually got a cramp in my finger and ended up changing hands. It makes the bottom buttons slightly less accessible I ended up using my nails instead of my fingers. Conclusion - it's not a bad case - it is as described now that they've stopped pretending it will fit a touch. However it isn't my perfect case - I'm going to carry on searching. I hope this review (and the photos) helps someone - it seems to me that the search for a perfect Kindle case is more complicated than it should be!

Funny, moving just not quite awesome, 24 Jan 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Clever idea and mostly funny book. Some parts are laugh-out-loud funny. However Betty's gynae problems got a bit too much attention - yes, I'm a woman so I can cope with it - but ... it wasn't entertaining. it was a pleasant but not memorable book for me at least.

Brilliant present for a godchild, 24 Jan 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I gave this set to my 6 month old godchild and she adores it. The bowls are very bright and appealing - the non-slip base is simply brilliant. And the soft ends to the spoons make it easy even for a rank amateur to help to feed without hurting delicate little mouths ;-) Her mum and dad have been impressed with the dishwasher proof-ness of the kit (not blender obv) even the 6 little storage cups have survived the top shelf of the dishwasher just fine without it being a struggle to get the lids. So often dishwashers seem to distort plastic lids - these are still like new. The only very slight gripe is that this really is a baby kit not a toddler one in that the blender is a bit under-powered for anything other than small amounts of cooked veg or soft fruits. And for it to do a good job - you really need to do VERY small batches - otherwise you end up finishing it off with a fork. If you're actually batch cooking baby food for the freezer or doing anything with meat in you will need your full-size blender. That said, on the plus side, it's small enough to sit out handy on the kitchen worktop and VERY easy to clean. And it really was a popular gift.
