HOTER Sportline Head Band, Terry Cloth Headband, Sweat Band, Sweatband
HOTER Sportline Head Band, Terry Cloth Headband, Sweat Band, Sweatband
Offered by Ayozen
Price: £2.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and Cheerful, 17 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This head band is a little flimsy and thin but I can't complain at the price. It fits my large head (64 cm) comfortably and stops sweat from going in my eyes so it does what it says on the tin. I bought two, yellow and black at the same time but they came from different suppliers and they look quite different the yellow one's very flimsy and the black one's has a lot thicker texture.

3.0 out of 5 stars I've had this tyre a month now and no problems ..., 17 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had this tyre a month now, so far no real problems, the tread is a bit shallow; 2.5 mm, hopefully it will last a while as the tread surface is mostly rubber. Bought this tyre because I use my MB on the road mostly and so I'm after a lot of miles out of my tyres, we'll see.....

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance: 25th Anniversary Edition
Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance: 25th Anniversary Edition
by Robert Pirsig
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.99

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting story with a sad ending, 20 Jun 2014
A true story by R M Pirsig, he rides a motorcycle coast to coast across America with his young son on the back.
Pirsig was a university lecturer who had a mental breakdown and was committed to a mental institution where he received ECT treatment, eventually he realizes that if he is ever going to be released from the nutty farm he would have to tell the white coats what they wanted to hear (not the truth). Afterwards he resumes a relatively normal life, split from his wife he picks up his son and goes on a road-trip across America, telling stories of people they met, the places they stayed and the mechanical troubles he's had. Being quite mechanical he effects most of his own repairs but when he can't he gives very vivid descriptions of the types people who do for him, from the prim and proper (everything has a place and a place for everything) to the people who use the chaos of the gravity filing system, he describes them all not as wrong or right but as artists in there own right.
I found this book to be thoroughly good read, its more about people than machines and is a lot easier read than his next book Lila.

Fermat's Last Theorem
Fermat's Last Theorem
by Simon Singh
Edition: Paperback
Price: £6.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Reading, 20 Jun 2014
This review is from: Fermat's Last Theorem (Paperback)
Unsolved for 358 years a mathematical problem that looks simple on the surface, many mathematician tried and failed to prove it, then it was eventually cracked by an English mathematician Andrew Wiles in 1994, the problem was originally set by Pierre de Fermat in 1637, he said said that he had proof but the margin of the book was too small to write it down, he died without revealing it.
A very entertaining read.

An Imaginary Tale: The Story of "i" (the Square Root of Minus One)
An Imaginary Tale: The Story of "i" (the Square Root of Minus One)
by Paul J. Nahin
Edition: Hardcover

2.0 out of 5 stars Highly Mathematical, 20 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's not really a story in the normal sense, highly mathematical (I got lost by page 3) without an explanation to whats going on and why. I studied electrical engineering for 4 years (p/t), where AC theory is loaded with SQR(-1), in what I've read so far this book is very heavy going, plod-on.

A story of all the people who have tried to prove "The Riemann hypothesis" (1859) to be true or false and failed. I found the book to be very interesting with a few laugh out load moments doted about. Supposedly the Riemann hypothesis is something to do with the erratic distribution of prime numbers along the number line? but the book doesn't seem to go into a lot of detail of what the Riemann hypothesis is actually about (I've had a look on Wikipedia but it went straight over my head!), it's narrative is more along the lines of the people and their methods used trying to prove it, interwoven with a few other theory's that hang on it's balance.
Bernhard Riemann (1826 - 1866) German mathematician.

Ultra Bright 5 LED Bike Bicycle Rear Back Lamp Light
Ultra Bright 5 LED Bike Bicycle Rear Back Lamp Light
Offered by alwaysgoodluck
Price: £3.82

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Bright, 26 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It took a couple weeks to arrive, free post. The quality's not too bad, very bright with seven lighting modes (permanently on, all flashing and several sequence flashing modes) and unlike some cheap bike lights This One Does Not run the batteries down when left switched off for a while.
Cons - the fitting bracket is a little cheap, the square peg of the detachable mount is a little big (very tight fit), needs a little filing, also you have to press the button eight times to switch it on and off (cycle through the modes), but very good value for money.
