4.0 out of 5 stars Mains or Battery, 13 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A pretty good lamp. It does look slightly odd with it's huge magnifier, like something fallen off a Martian tripod.
The instruction sheet to put this together is pretty simple on a poor photocopied sheet. Just find your language and good luck. You wouldn't think this needs instructions, but what through me is the box that attaches to the pole...it takes batteries, and I was confused for a moment thinking this was battery only. It isn't, It's a bizarre add on. I don't think i've come across a lamp before that gives a battery option.
Anyway, moving on.
The lamp itself gives off a nice white light. The bulbs are apparently guaranteed for the duration of the lamp...whatever that means? I suppose it means when they die you throw it away, what I think 'they' mean is that when you no longer want the lamp the bulbs will go?
The flexible cord can be moved around at tight angles, something some other flexible's do not give. So if you want to get this into some awkward position, you probably will.
One very small downside, the lead. It is a very thin one and just dangles around. I used the plastic fastener the plug came with to bind it to the pole at the top and the battery pack to keep it in place at the base. Not ideal, maybe some cable ties will neaten it up more.
In all a decent hobby lamp that's about as versatile as you could hope for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Healthy addition to your kitchen, 8 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a good looking juicer that will fit into any kitchen decor.

I like the way that it is smaller than your average juicer, and claims to be easier and quicker to wash after use.

The instructions are limited and I was disappointed that it didn't come with a recipe book to try out some new juices, although if you go onto Philips website you will find further information.

I wasn't sure how to take apart the juicer when it arrived, but located on one of the sleeves of the box is a quick start guide with some very basic instructions to get you started. Looking at the juicer as a whole, I think that this product has been made for the consumer to basically just have a juicer and no extra bits included.

It took me ages to know how to take it apart, and I had to google it to find out how to and also how to use it effectively. Basically the parts do come off individually as shown on the box, but will be a bit stiff to start with.

This juicer can juice up to 2L in one go, is dishwasher safe and easy to clean. I also like the way you can add whole fruits and veg to the juicer and this will help you get more healthy vitamins and minerals each day. Still not sure about wasting so much pulp.

When I used the juicer I did what was advised and turned it on first. Just to warn you, I wish I hadn't. The blender is very fast and I was worried that my orange was going to jump out of the juicer and make a mess.

I used four oranges which made approx 150ml. the juice tasted lovely and I am sure that it was good for me, but I cant help feeling disappointed with the amount of pulp that has to be thrown away. Would be good if it could be used some other way!

Cleaning was allot easier than when I have used a larger blender, although you do still need to make sure the draining board is clear, to have enough room to stack your washed juicer.

All in all a nice little juicer if you are into juicing and not concerned about throwing away at least half of your ingredients.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect., 7 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Absolutely brilliant monitor! They really have thought of everything with this one! Although quite expensive it can be used for years as can be used to watch over your kids in a play room when older.

The camera quality is great, allowing you to clearly see your baby even in a pitch black room. You can zoom in and move the camera to see around most of the room if needed.

The hd sound is brilliant. Our baby is a quiet breather so can't quite hear him breathe as their description says but you can hear everything else but without an annoying buzz sound that some monitors have.

There are too many great features to list all but some of our favourites are the nightlight, light show & lullabies. They can all be put on a timer which is handy plus you can adjust the brightness of the nightlight & the volume of the lullabies of which there is a wonderful selection including classical, nature & white noise sounds. Plus a repeat option if your baby has a favourite.

Another handy feature is that you can set timers for when to feed again. Also when the volume is turned right down you can choose to have a cry alert to go off when your baby cries which we found useful if we forgot to turn the volume back up after a night feed or if baby is chatting away before it's time to get up.

The only feature we have been disappointed with, making us knock a star off is the temperature feature. We were so pleased to see it read the temperature & that it would alert us if it was too hot or cold as that can be worry for many parents but it is rubbish! The temperature was always wrong so we used the collaboration option but even after doing this 3 times it still would go wrong. It wouldn't even be consistently wrong e.g always a few degrees warmer it would randomly change to be 2-3 degrees hotter or colder than our gro egg. This meant that the alarm would wake us up telling us it was too hot or too cold even when the actually temperature was fine.

Overall it is still brilliant, it looks good & is extremely easy to use even for technically challenged people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid, 5 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a solid looking piece of equipment, brightly colored and looks like it can take a good workout without being damaged.
There were no instructions with the roller, so I had to look up what it could actually do, and it's more a massage aid than an exercise one.

The roller is made of non-porous urethane, is resistant to dirt and easy to wipe down. It will also not bend, sag or smell, and is good for exercisers to want to work deep muscle tissue.

The green roller is classed at the softer roller for those new to rolling.
To use this roller lay on the floor with a mat if required, and with support from your upper body use the roller underneath your legs and bottom, keeping roll smooth and in control.

Benefits of rolling include to loosen tight muscles after a tough workout, reduce stress, avoid injury and promote relaxation.
I would recommend looking up on google on how to use this equipment, safely and effectively before use.

Ultrasport Men's Kugar Performance T-Shirt - Black, Small
Ultrasport Men's Kugar Performance T-Shirt - Black, Small

4.0 out of 5 stars General purpose sport top., 5 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is very nice looking top. It is made of polyester, has a lovely soft feel to it, is light, airy and looks very smart.
This is a quick dry top so it doesn't become wet and uncomfortable when exercising.

The style is nice and loose and very comfortable to wear. The fabric becomes more of a lighter mesh around the armpits to ensure comfort-ability when exercising.
There are no uncomfortable tags on the garment! A real bonus.

Petkin Mega Valu Pet Wipes, Pack of 125
Petkin Mega Valu Pet Wipes, Pack of 125
Offered by Mighty Oak Trading
Price: £6.82

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful for rabbits too!, 5 Dec 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These wipes come in a handy package with a plastic lid opening, very much like baby wipes.
They have a refreshing coconut smell and feel gentle on the skin.
These wipes are extra gentle containing aloe, lanolin, protein and vitamins a & e, to be used to clean your pets face, ears, body and eye area. I am going to use them to keep my mucky bunny a bit cleaner around her bottom!
The wipes will not wipe away spot flea treatment which is handy.

Other uses include cleaning dirty paws, puppy slobber, when it is too cold for a bath, or too old for a bath, to keep your pets coat soft and shiny and also to help reduce dander that can cause allergies.

The pack contains 125 wipes.

3.0 out of 5 stars How Much?!, 28 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The chair is good. It's comfortable. Can be positioned for your ergonomic delight. However, it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread and I wonder how on earth it warrants such a hefty price tag!
There are some very good, plush office chairs available.
For instance:
Executive Extra Padded High Back Black Color Office Chair 14OB You could get this and have over £120 spare.
Miadomodo® BDS 22 Synthetic Leather Office Chair DIFFERENT COLOURS (black & red) or this and have £130 left over.
Brand New Design swivel PU Leather Black Color Office Chair MOO19BK or this very nice looking chair and have a whopping £140 saved.
You see what I'm getting at. Nice chair, but come on, over £180!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun for a healthy appetite!, 22 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This juicer looks strong and efficient. Ours was in a professional red colour to look good in the kitchen.

This equipment comes with an easy to read manual and 100 juice recipe book that has some very tasty, nutritious, easy to follow and economical ideas. The recipe book does not state how many people the recipe is for though.

The juice is easy to use and assemble. When taking out of the box be careful not to drop the second juice cup which is inside the other cup like I did...and cracked it :(

There is a list of ingredients that cannot be used in the juicer, this includes frozen fruit (bland strainer included in the use of frozen items by thawing for 5 - 20 minutes before use), hard seeds, no vegetable or animal oil and coconut.

Juicing has been found to contain loads of health benefits to strengthen your body to fight against flu, colds and long term sickness. Google it!
It is however important to make sure you mix vegetable and fruit together to avoid a high intake of sugars by just using fruit ingredients.

When using this juicer I still find it hard why you have to waste the pulp. Spinach got stuck but I poured some grapefruit juice in and the mixture tasted nice.
I liked the way oranges blended easily and tasted very nice.

Washing the juicer was quite easy especially using the brush that accompanies the juicer.
Noise was quite minimal in use.
Other options include using the bland strainer to juice fruit that is nearly defrosted, and a smoothie maker by including milk.

Overall I do like this product and the juice tastes very refreshing. Don't want to keep wasting the pulp though, all that wasted fiber!

UPDATE:
We have decided to part ways.
It is a good bit of kit, but what's got to me in the end is the sheer amount of washing up and cleaning that is involved after every use. There are a lot more simple solutions on the market, that are a lot more user/washer friendly.

Laurastar Lift Original Red - A New Way of Ironing
Laurastar Lift Original Red - A New Way of Ironing
Price: £299.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Great if you need a steamer, 22 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This iron comes with a steam generator, soft pressing steam plate (for clothing that can leave a shine once ironed, and silk) and insulating mat.
This model does not contain the ironing board cover and cable-holder, displayed in picture on box.

The steam generator holds a large water holder which is easy to put in and take out. It comes with a water filter to place into it as well, though the manual says it has been designed to take tap water...which is slightly odd then that there is a warning light for when to replace the filter.
Talking of the manual, it's very thick. When you open it for the first time you think you've broken it, but it actually splits into 2 halves. The left side a history of the company? and the right side the operating instructions.

To operate the iron is quite uncomplicated, with a simple on/off button which will flash, with a buzzing noise while the iron is preparing to be used which takes approx. 30 seconds, though the manual said 3 mins.

The iron has two heat options, one for cotton and linen and another for silks, wool's and synthetic materials. There is a third option for the silk heat, where you would be able to use the soft-pressing sole plate to be able to iron velvet, stretchy sports clothing and sensitive fabrics.

The iron is delivered in a large box, and is in general a large piece of equipment in my opinion. Think of a smallish hoover, and you get the idea of what you will be lugging around and need storage space for.
I liked that the iron was light to hold and reminded me of the old fashioned cordless irons used a hundred years ago!

I think this iron would be very useful for somebody who needs to stream clothes that are hanging and curtains etc. I however felt that it was allot of equipment (and money) to store and use for just everyday school uniforms etc.
Bottom line, my old iron gets the job done quicker. Unfortunately that is the decision I came down to, I like the look of it, it's obviously well made but I don't want to be at the ironing board longer, so I'm sticking with my Phillips.

Mitre Aircell Power Shinguards - Cyan/White - M
Price: £11.05

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent shinguard (size info attached), 21 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is my second Mitre product, and it follows the same form as the Goalie Gloves I tried. If you think of the basic gear you can get at your local sports shop this would be the next step up. It's not the cheapest, but no way near the price of the pro gear.
The guards work very well. They have a dual lining. An outer hexagon cell stands proud of the inner guard. This outer cell is able to take quite an impact and deflect the shock around the shin. Clever.
They come with a nice fitting ankle strap so there's no movement on these and not too much to worry about with folding socks and taping to keep in place.
