The usual tense, intriguing plot with interesting characters and Paris brilliantly evoked. Best to read this series from the beginning as the characters develop and different areas of the city are portrayed.

I saw this at the cinema and adored it. Well-acted and such a clever and amusing plot. Paris looked so beautiful, Iwanted to be there! Brilliant film.

This review is from: Dolly: A Ghost Story (Hardcover)
As a ghost story it was chilling at times, unpleasant at others as some characters were unlikeable. The prose is the author's usual perfection but I felt other stories by her were better, more spooky and page turning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost Story, 18 Oct. 2010
This review is from: The Mist in the Mirror (Paperback)
This is beautifully written,as all of Susan Hill's books. It is dark, creepy, with tension building from the beginning. You feel afraid for the main character but also wish that he had listened to the warnings. Difficult to put the book down once begun.
