4.0 out of 5 stars Good unit, a little let down by a couple of omissions but still perfectly usable, 27 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
First off - we replaced our old audio-only BT baby monitor with this - the ability to watch our boy sleep and see what he's doing is something we hadn't really missed, but immediately appreciate now we have it!

Audio quality from the parent end listening in is pretty good, although I don't think it's quite as sensitive as our old BT one was - you could often hear him breathing with the BT one on high volume - however, this one is perfectly adequate in the sound department there.

Where it's let down is the other way round - talk-back (talking to the baby via the parent unit) is very quiet, with no way to control the volume at the baby unit (camera). We often found ourselves using the BT unit's talk-back as a crude intercom during the day if one of us was upstairs and one downstairs - the talk-back from the camera of this unit is so quiet the one upstairs struggles to hear what's being said, especially if the boy is making any noise at all. The lack of ability to control the volume on the baby unit for talkback loses this a star from me. (You can, however, control the volume of lullaby playback - but the highest volume for that isn't particularly loud either.)

Picture quality is good, but not great. It's a 320 x 240 resolution screen, which is pretty low these days - budget smartphones often have screen resolutions of 1280x720 (for e.g. the Motorola Moto G), and this lack of resolution does show a little - you can't pick out really fine details easily. It is, however, more than adequate enough to know what your little'un is up to, which, at the end of the day, is the idea. I'll include a close-up photo of the unit in use to illustrate.

At night, it automatically switches to night vision mode (enabling IR emitters and switching to infra-red sensitivity, resulting in a mostly black & white image). It works well - we have the camera 6-8 feet from the cot, and our son is clearly visible.

There's a standard screw slot in the base of the camera unit for wall mounting it if required - but I think it would have been sensible to put a standard camera tripod mount socket there too - so you could have the option to mount this to a mini tripod / mounting bracket / shelf clamp etc - there are so many options available there which would have been opened up if they only included a tripod mount in the base of the camera unit.

One more feature that appears to be missing is the ability for the display to automatically turn on if the sound level exceeds a certain level - which would save you picking up the unit and pressing the button to see what's up.

Finally - the parent unit looks to be able to work with up to four cameras, but I can't comment on how well that works as I only have the one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked fine on laptop & phone, not the fastest though!, 27 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Worked fine connected to my laptop (normal USB socket) and plugged in to my Samsung Galaxy Note (Android-powered smartphone) via the micro-USB end.

The translucent brown plastic part swivels and clips over the micro USB end when it's not in use - but can't clip over the normal USB end when you're using the micro USB side, so it's left sticking out - downwards in the case of my phone, so it would prevent the phone sitting flat with it plugged in.

Speed was adequate (I transferred several HD TV episodes to it from my laptop, and had no problem watching them on my phone from it), but hdparm tests revealed a transfer rate of about 22MB/s) but certainly not stunning!

When plugged in to my Galaxy Note and watching video from it, it seemed to get quite warm, but not super-hot, and didn't suffer any ill-effects, so I can only assume that's just the result of packing all those electronics into such a small space!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy one, keep it in the drawer, 19 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wanted a compact screwdriver with exchangeable bits to keep in the drawer in the lounge to be close at hand rather than going out to the shed to get my full toolbox - perfect for that purpose, pleasant to use and all the bits are stored neatly inside.

Perfect for that use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well padded, chunky, versatile, 19 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Excellent rugged camera bag, with plenty of padding and several useful pockets.

Mine currently contains my D3100 with 18-50mm kit lens, a Nikon 35mm prime lens, a Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens, a Yongnou flash unit, along with various accessories (wireless flash triggers, remote shutter button, folding flash softbox, some filters, spare battery) and all fit in well - snugly, but without forcing anything.

As with most bags like this, the dividers attach to the side of the bag with velcro so you can configure the interior as you wish to suit your camera and equipment.

Very happy with this bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but lost interest quickly, 19 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
It's a baby-safe mirror - entertains our 8 month old from time to time, but doesn't hold his attention very long - and seemed a bit expensive for what it is. Obviously it has to be safe, flexible reflective surface - but it doesn't reflect very well, and picks up scratches quite easily.

The fold-out "stand" with velcro is useful to prop it up in his play-pen, and also can be repurposed to attach it to bars (e.g. the handle of his car seat, etc).

The guide from the "parenting expert" with instructions on how to play with it with your child came across as incredibly patronising - I don't think it really added anything to the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid,a hit with our boy, 14 Jun 2014
Our boy loves this. Bought from him when he was about 4 months - he's now 8.5 months and still loves it - one of his favourite toys. Don't think we've even changed the batteries once, despite him playing with it a lot and it rarely being turned off by the switch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality wipes, good cleaning, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Good quality, thick, clean well, and no chemical odour or strong perfumey smell.

Good value bulk pack.

Could be better with clip-seal lids than sticky plastic, but no big deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but well built, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Not cheap for a bay swing but solid, good quality, and handles our pretty chunky 7 month old well. Ability to use the seat alone as a rocker is good too. Shame the seat doesn't fold for carrying / storage though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact, effective charger, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Compact, effective charger - feels well made an charged my motorcycle battery with no issues.

Didn't get particularly hot, unlike a charger I used in the past.
