4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, Plenty Happening to Keep the Pages Turning, 3 April 2014

Overall it's a good book, written fairly well and does keep your attention with its twists and turns. The Isle of Man location does add something extra to the story rather than your normal big city thriller. However my only real disappointment comes from its ending, for 400 plus pages of reading the ending is wrapped up quickly and rather predictably giving fairly little satisfaction to the reader. Although I would still recommend it as a avid reader of crime and thriller genre books.

Having been a big fan of the film I decided to read the book. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was disappointing but it certainly did not have the finesse and smoothness of the film. Covering a large amount of time in a relatively small amount of pages will cause that problem. The chapters have the slight feel as though they're not always in the right place skipping back and forth: jumping to other character and places. The story itself is good and becomes more capturing as it goes along but as rare as it may be I believe the film is better, it just shows the potential of the plot given more detail and time allowing you to further get to know driver without really knowing anything. It is worth a read if you're a fan of James Sallis or the film but has its problems.

I have bought these guides for the last GTA games as well as this one and find them very useful. Although you may not need them to guide you through every single mission their usefulness comes more from the little things, helpful hints and maps to where everything you could possibly need in the game is located. They're a thick and handy book for any GTA fan and well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very funny, 4 Mar. 2014

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy make a fantastic comedy team and have some genuinely hilarious moments together. The plot of the film perhaps could have used a little beefing up but in the end it's a comedy so it's not entirely necessary. The DVD extras of extended scenes are also extremely funny and makes it even more worth buying. As a fan of Sandra Bullock I would happily recommend this film.

2.0 out of 5 stars Funny but crude as expected, 4 Mar. 2014

The basic plot of the film is wildly crazy but actually does relatively work. It has it's good moments but then a lot of it as you would expect from this group of actors is crude jokes, most of it's good humour comes from it's great use of cameos which are worth a watch. It's not a film that I would generally recommend however unless it is suited to your sense of humour.

Great addictive game, the only problem is that once you're addicted there's never enough levels! Definitely worth the very cheap price of 69p.

I was drawn to the book after seeing the mini series advertised on BBC last year, the book however is much more detailed in the story. Though I believe the book is slightly too long at over 600 pages and the story does develop slowly, it is written well and is definitely worth a read. As an extra point, for those who have watched the BBC adaptation it does not ruin the enjoyment of the book as can often be the case, which was a nice surprise.

A good read, frank and honest about what can happen when you're a woman. A good reminder for the fact that women need to be proud of the fact they're a woman...while constantly bringing up all the problems we encounter that men seem to evade. Funny and to the point, well worth a read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but slightly too long., 16 Mar. 2013

A good story, with good writing. The fault I find is the length, it becomes slightly too intricate, too many details to remember and a large number of characters thrown into the mix, a constant back and forth between them. Nevertheless for someone whose willing to bunker down and stick with it I'd still recommend giving it a read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but problematic., 19 Dec. 2012

Although as an app itself it is enjoyable there are several issues that need to be fixed. First on long questions too much time is wasted reading it as it scrolls at an extremely slow speed. Secondly I would not call the questions difficult but that the problem is the clues themselves are not always particularly useful, they need to be better thought out. Lastly, that some of the words chosen are not particularly those you would expect often very strange and rarely heard. However as a free app it is good value and can be easily played just with the occasional hint needed.
