3.0 out of 5 stars Half good, 28 Oct 2011
The boat trip along the Thames is very good, with a focused idea and interesting "events" along the river supported by fun interactions among the group. The sailing trip is much more contrived, and Griff's obsession with the race proves a very poor driving force for the series. The other two just tag along, and the dynamics are much less interesting.

1.0 out of 5 stars A mess, 23 July 2009

A disaster from start to finish...how they managed to take an already fairly stable world/code and produce this buggy disgrace is beyond me. Avoid at any price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious, 21 May 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ceville (PC DVD) (CD-ROM)
A triumphant return to the style of adventure Monkey Island pioneered, and perhaps the best since that series. Great characters, excellent script and plausible puzzles. Only complaint is that it seems too short...but I am sure a sequel is coming (especially considering the ending) and it is good value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic genre revisited, 21 May 2009

Basically the same game as "Fantasy Wars" with the main race changed. Despite this, the formula of simple mechanics, colourful, detailed graphics and rich army/hero development remains enthralling.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great beginning, 18 May 2008
The Malazan world certainly is deep enough to support two writers, and I was delighted to find this book as enthralling as Erikson's earlier work. The style is different, but equally good and more suited to the presentation of a tighter storyline. I cannot say whether it works without being familiar with the others books, but if you like great writing and don't mind your brain working while reading, just get this along with as many of Erikson's books you can fit on your shelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars The world we wish we lived in, 21 April 2003
After an awesome beginning with the fallout of the shootings, this series tails off slightly and the smugness, and all-round cleverness of everyone gets a little annoying. Why do they all know the Gillbert and Sullivan scripts?? BUT, just when you are thinking that West Wing is a 1 series wonder they blow you away with a brilliant introspective on King Smug himself, Josh. Brilliant TV, and made me think that all the previous episodes were build-up.
