I have from the very beginning followed kathryn williams and have pretty much enjoyed her work but im finding it hard to get on with this album even though i have listened to it many times now i think its the track with the lyric he isnt waving he is drowning that just kind of switched me off, not her best album or work

Anyone who loved sunhouse (i first heard them on the twentyfour seven soundtrack another great listen) will love this laid back dreamy and sometimes haunting acoustic bliss. Well worth the money

5.0 out of 5 stars coldplay have never done anything this good, 22 July 2006
This review is from: Eyes Open (Audio CD)
i find the map and draw a straight line over rivers farms and state lines the distance from a to where you'd b its only finger lenghts that i see i touch the place where id find your face....track 8 set the fire to the third bar

if this cd case isnt leaning against the side of your stereo whilst the cd is hogging the limelight then take yourself to one side have a serious word with yourself and go beg, steal (no dont do that) or borrow (mm dodgy too) this album. your cd collection just aint the same without it what a collection of truely magical tunes lyrics and melodies. they should be giving themselves a rather large pat on their backs....

5.0 out of 5 stars dont read the newspaper hype just try it you will like it, 22 July 2006
This review is from: Alright, Still (Audio CD)
This has to be the suprise album of the summer, i was dreading a collection of pop style poop and this girl proved me wrong...its smart its sassy its funnier than the streets and is so over playable no wonder radio 1 has played smile to death. Alfie for those in the know will have you in stiches...ms allen writes about what we all think, ok 1 out of the 11 tracks raised an eyebrow think it was either track 9 or 10 but you forgive her as when the suns beating down nothing this year will put a better grin on your moosh. after a pretty awful 3rd album from the streets this will put your head back in line and seeing as you can buy it used on amazon for under £6 whats that ??? a packet of bensons..go on give it a try i dare you. And girls track 5 will have you all nodding in agreement i never want to cross this girl....

4.0 out of 5 stars at last no more dance remixes, 18 Mar 2006
This review is from: Comfort Of Strangers (Audio CD)
Having been an avid fan of ms orton since hearing touch me with your love on the radio way back in 1996 i have enjoyed both the trailer park and central reservation albums but have always cringed a little when the dance remixes are applied. Then daybreaker came along which broke my heart as it for me just didnt work. The new album is something else and really is Beth back to her best great lyrics catchy hum along tunes not a sniff of a dance track. If you like this look out for her best bits ep as they are of the same vain. Definatly try this album out for size
