5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly reliable after my deskjet, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If all you require is reliable black/white printing, then look no further. Very tolerant of long periods out of use, and seems to use no toner. I bought a replacement cartridge (cheap if you research the right alternative supplier), but after a couple of years use at a few sheets a week, I'm still using the originally-supplied, low-capacity cartridge!

A wireless version is available for those who require it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is very good value, but it may be worth paying the extra for the next model up if you want to be sure of having every detail if your accident when used as a dash-cam.

That said it all functions well, except that there is a big delay before recording starts when in motion detection mode, making that mode of limited use in catching wildlife or prowlers!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the whole story, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Olau (Paperback)
Note that this booklet was published before the demise of Olau in 1994, when the future still looked rosy. It thus contains no details of why the service was abandoned, nor of what happened to the ships (the last pair were operating in the Mediterranean in 2014 under new ownership)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Summary of Why Britain Escaped Invasion, 8 Mar 2012
This book provides as much detail from as many angles as most people will require as to why the German plan to invade Britain didn't come to fruition. The book deals fairly with the situation both sides of the Channel, from the viewpoints of government, military and civilians. I had always assumed that the plans were not very serious or far advanced, but in fact the contrary was true. An interesting read both for those who know a little or a lot about WW2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Primer, 23 July 2011
Still the best 'how to' book for sailing novices. This edition with its drawings beats later editions with photos, in my view, in getting the intended information across.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Safety Cap, 23 July 2011
After years of banging my head on the boom while dinghy sailing, this cap looks set to save me a lot of scuffs, and maybe more. On top of that, it is pretty discreet about it's safety capabilities, and people have been surprised that it's anything other than a normal baseball cap. Some more colour/decal options would be nice, however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable Rechargeables, 14 Nov 2010
After years of disappointment with rechargeable batteries in my camera (the AA size in that case), I've settled on Eneloops, which cured the problems I'd had before of very short battery life. Other batteries would be OK after the first charge but hardly able to hold a charge thereafter. Eneloops, by contrast just seem to go on and on despite their lower nominal capacity rating, possibly because the other bsatteies couldn't take the high discharge load of e.g. a digital camera, and broke down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Sailing Watch, 23 July 2010
I have owned a number of watches for dinghy sailing over the years, and this one stands out as the best. All the functions you need, such as countdown timer, settable for any number of minutes (e.g. five), and resettable at a different time (e.g. the 4-minute signal) to synchronise if, for example, the original countdown was started a bit late.

The buttons are also more reliable - less prone to accidental pressing while easy to press deliberately - than with other watches I've used.

Great for everyday use too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent camera batteries, 12 Mar 2010
Despite their rating of only 2000mAh, these batteries have transformed my Canon S5 digital camera. I have already taken more photographs that I could have with my old 2750's, and I've yet to charge them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear portable guide, 8 Feb 2010
This is an excellent guide for aspiring/average hill-walkers and may provide ideas for the experienced also. Slim and light to carry onto the fells, yet clear and easy to follow without unnecessary instructions that in other guides can lead to confusion. Walks range from easy (e.g. the Rothay circuit) to fairly strenuous (Helvellyn) but avoid any serious scrambling or, in my experience, the need for an above average head for heights. Excellent value.
