If you are on the search for spiritual 'enlightenment'... I have news for you. You're not going to find it! For the simple reason that it doesn't exist. It is a simply a concept that you can never reach. I had come to this conclusion before reading this book, but this only helped to cement it.

Do yourself a real favour and read this book.. it will save you a lot of hassle in the long run. Trust me!!

On a similar these I would also recommend Jeff Fosters book 'The Deepest Acceptance'
and take a look at John Shermans site:

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended, 29 May 2011
I highly recommend all 3 of the Conversations with God books. These are not written to be gospel and should not be dissected as such. Use the ideas simply as a stepping stone in the progression of YOUR own spirituality and understanding of the reality around you. These books are only words written by a man and as such are not designed or intended to be taken as a new religion... there is no requirement to analyze every word, instead take the bits you like, the parts which help you move to a higher place and the general message of the book as a whole.

Its all too easy these days to get caught up in the material world without questioning that which we see around us. For examples just do a google search for unexplained things such as spontaneous healing, psychics, the behaviour of certain particles in quantum physics when observed. So many things that our limited scientific view of the world cannot explain and yet nobody wants to question the reality around us. Is this all there really is? Maybe... or maybe not.

It is equally as easy to get caught up in the mainstream religions way of viewing things, which is all based on fear. The fear of damnation if you don't do this or you do that. Preaching that you must obey this rule and that rule otherwise Jesus or God will sentence you to hell to be punished. The ironic and hypocritical thing about all this is that the very things they teach you to be ie, do unto others, forgiveness, unconditional love etc... is the very opposite of what they tell you God will do to you if you disobey!

Enjoy the read and maybe come to the realization that there is no 'right' or 'wrong' answer to all this
