5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 21 Sep 2004
This is a high-quality, low cost solution for anyone with a PDA, MP£ player or Mobile Phone - the capacity is excellent, and well worth it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but could be better, 21 Sep 2004
This is a compact little device, but from use I have found the CompactFlash slot to be a little tight but its perfectly servicable otherwise. The long USB extension cable is a welcome addition, but if you use Windows 2000 or XP then I recommend that DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED DRIVERS as they prevented the device from functioning.
Overall, a good buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just an excellent game, but a brilliant architects tool!, 21 Sep 2004
This review is from: The Sims 2 (PC CD) (Video Game)
What can I say? The game is even better than all the hype made it out to be!! Ok, the controls might be difficult for some to master, but the ability to build three floors, decks, re-colour objects to fit a theme, and the ageing and "genetics" features make this so much better - obviously those who aren't hardcore Sims fans may be unaware that there is a cheat to turn off ageing (Ctrl+Shift+C, type AGING OFF)
Incidentally, the powerful building and landscaping tools may serve another use if you plan to remodel your house(!) and may even spark an entire generation of young architects! The ability to completely customise how your Sims look is inspired by player feedback from the original Sims and allows you to recreate - if you so wish - your friends & family, and transplant them into a virtual reality! Also, the compatibility with SimCity 4 allows you to easily customise new neighbourhoods, but the in-game neighbourhood tools are pretty good too.
Five stars does NOT do this masterpiece justice - lets just hope Maxis and EA don't let the quality slip when it comes to the expansion packs (Superstar and Makin' Magic spring to mind...)
BUY THIS GAME!!

Cowon iAudio 4 256MB MP3 Player
Cowon iAudio 4 256MB MP3 Player

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but could be better - especially at that price..., 20 May 2004
Being extremely small, and looking fantastic, the Cowon iAudio 4 is a goodpiece of kit. The display is disappointing, and Cowon hasn't really thought through the navigation - the buttons are too small and aren't really suitable for use on-the-move. The bundled earphones, however, have wonderful sound quality, but they can't compensate for the poor navigation and low battery life (compared to similar products).
The iAudio makes up for this by supporting most of the major sound formats (MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF) and has a built-in FM radio and a line-in port for recording.
Overall, this is a good MP3 player for its size and features (especially the earphones), but the deciding features for any purchase of an MP3 player (battery life and useability) mean it falls flat at the final hurdle. Though, if you're looking for a good value MP3 player (and don't mind shelling out for AAA batteries every 11-or-so hours) then the Cowon iAudio 4 is a fair choice.
