Practical, succinct and funny!, 12 Sep 2008
This is by far the best guide to office writing that I've seen. Full of easily-explained practical advice (with useful exercises to make sure you've understood it). The author takes a modern and non-prescriptive view on grammar and completely demolishes many of the old myths (can't start a sentence with 'and' and 'but'; can't put a comma before 'and'; can't split an infinitive and many others). Every office and organisation that cares about clear, human, effective writing should have a copy (or several).
