3.0 out of 5 stars Dull, 20 April 2014
This review is from: Portrait Photography (Hardcover)
When first published this book was dull and uninspired in the style of portrait photography it was promoting . Has some useful information contained in it's pages but this tends to get lost . If you are attempting to emulate the dull , sterile , 'photographic club' look of the 1960's/1970's this could be the book for you

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent , but Dated, 20 April 2014
This review is from: Photographing People (Paperback)
This book is an excellent guide to the basics of portrait photography . It contains fine illustrations to take the reader forward even if these photographs date , at best , from the 1980's and others are even older in style - call it a retro look !!!!

Sprint car technology: Design, theory, suspension
Sprint car technology: Design, theory, suspension
by Don Alexander
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative Book, 19 April 2014
I bought this book years ago when someone suggested to me that I build a Brisca F2 car and I was in need of some ideas as to how to approach a small oval track single seater . The car never got built but I learned a lot from this very informative book . Despite what might be thought it's very specialist application there is much in the pages of this volume that can be applied to conventional circuit racing machinery .Sections on chassis construction and suspension geometry are particularly thought provoking for the thinking reader . Highly recommended , a lot can be gained from this very intelligently written book .

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 19 April 2014
A 'coffee table' book which is boringly written and becomes a tedious read very quickly . I love F5000 and spend a lot of my time around Formula 5000 cars but this book is extremely disappointing . Quite why Veloce bothered publishing it I don't understand . The definitive book on F5000 that captures the raw excitement of these wonderful racing cars has yet to be written - this sad effort is certainly not that book ........

2.0 out of 5 stars Far from Brilliant, 18 April 2014
This slim volume is far from brilliant . It has the appearance of being cobbled together , it contains little information and there are many inaccuracies in the scant text . Not recommended . Someone , someday , will produce a book that does justice to these exciting single seater racing cars

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Film from Adox, 17 April 2014
This is a super new film from Adox that has to be tried . Have only shot a few rolls but like it's tonality . Better than Rollei RPX100 or Agfa APX100 , my ASA100 favourites ? Too early to tell but it is nice stuff and new black and white films are always welcome .

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Stuff, 17 April 2014
Super medium format film - painfully sharp images when developed in Rodinal , will show you just how sharp your lens are . If you insist on digital output , scan the negatives , the image capture capacity of this film is frightening . Wonderful stuff , highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless, 16 April 2014
Fine stuff in medium format when you have a need for either faster speed or more grain . Images have timeless Tri-X ' bite' , wonderful stuff ; civilisation is doomed if Kodak ever stop producing it .
