2.0 out of 5 stars Not the cream of rock autobiogs by long shot, 14 Feb 2013

I was aware of Bakers work and music before I read this but didnt know much about the man himself. Theres no doubt the guys had an interesting life and has a story or two to tell but I finished it feeling pretty let down. It's pretty amateurishly written and at times just a rather dull description of events rather short of any any embellishment or real feeling. He's clearly his own biggest fan with the ego the size of house and it gets a bit tiresome him banging on about how brilliant he is at just about everything and anyhing that does go wrong is clearly not his fault. I had to laugh at his dismay at his 2nd wifes infidelity given the way he treated the 1st one. He's a great musician without doubt but seems bitter and angry with it. I think his story in the hands of a professional writer could have made for a brilliant book as theres plenty of material there, sadly left to his own devices its probably one of the worst rock bio / autobiographies I've read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it.., 12 July 2012

Coming from the position of someone who hasnt got any of the Decemberists back catalogue except the King is Dead I have listened to this record (both dics) endlessly over the last few months and cant fault it. It captures the energy of a brilliantly entertaining live show theres not a dud song over the whole album. If I do have a complaint then it would be the stage banter is a little annoying after a few listens when what you want to hear is the music, but thats really all I can criticize..
Must get some more of their albums!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple & easy to use..., 21 Oct 2010

This review is from: Nike Nike+ Sportband 2 -
I have been using my Sportband for about 4 months now and would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple way of recording their running / walking. I had no problem calibrating it and setting it up on my PC. You can see your pace, time or distance while out on the move and then when you get home you can upload it (via usb port) to you PC and plot your progress over time with previous weeks / months runs. The Nike + website offers the option of a variety of other tools such as training programs etc. and you can also link up with any friends who have a Sportband to compare statistics...

4.0 out of 5 stars A really nice diary of trip to NZ, 19 Nov 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Please dont read this expecting a travel guide to trecking.... sorry 'tramping' around New Zealand because thats not what this book is all about. It is an at times quite personal diary of a travellers four month walking adventure around both North and South Island, not only describing the sights and sounds but also the inner emotions triggered by experiences on route.
That said it does give a nice feel and some good descriptions of what to expect on a vist to the Islands.

1.0 out of 5 stars Well there was one funny bit......, 19 Nov 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I think its the Daily Mail who describe this book as 'hilarious' - but its far from that I can assure you. I was expecting a lighthearted jaunt around the NZ islands but instead got the cynical ramblings from someone who has very little good to say about the country he has made his home for many years. I ploughed through it though and it was worth it when I did come across the funny bit just a chapter or so from the end. So if you're after a book to advise you on all the negative things to look out for then this is just the job, otherwise best avoided I think.....

I had a bad experience with a Pentax which used batteries like they were going out of fashion - so after a bit of research I bought one of these. Cant fault anything about it - battery lasts for ages, easy to use, great pictures. Recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Think before you buy this product !, 27 Feb 2007
Nice compact camera, straightforward and easy to use - and the pictures are good. However the one MAJOR problem is it uses batteries like theres no tomorrow so you have to keep a constant supply with you. Very Disappointing...
