4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Budget Soundbar, 21 Jun 2014
Unlike most of the other reviewers for this I come from a background of having owned several other soundbars from different manufacturers including Yamaha, Samsung and Philips so think I can judge fairly well how it fits in.

First off this is a budget soundbar from a company not renowned for their sound and speaker quality so the range and overall "natural" feel of the sound isn't as good as Yamaha. Even with a lot of adjustment (thankfully this soundbar has plenty of options) you can still tell the difference when hot swapping, it seems a little harsh if anything. To be honest the Samsungs appear even worse for this so for sound quality I'd place this above Samung but below Philips and Yamaha. However saying that any soundbar I've used is much much better than TV speakers, I've just spent a lot of money on a very new out 4K set and the sound is still terrible. Where this unit from Sony also benefits is it's surround effect. I wasn't expecting much but to find anything better I think you'd need to be looking at the 700+ for a YSP2200. It happily beats the budget Yamaha bars, Philips and Samsung in this respect. The left and right seperation is very good and there is a distinct difference to sounds that are supposed to be behind you. You have to spend a lot of money for a true surround sound replacement but for around 300 this is as good as I've seen.

That's pretty much all the bad dealt with from here on in it's all good stuff. 3 HDMI in's and 1 out with ARC support means there's no problem connecting your Sky, Xbox and PC and still allowing amplification of your TV sound. One point with this and it's not an issue with this Soundbar but "most" TV manufacturers don't pass on a full sound signal from their external inputs, they downmix it to stereo. So for example if you plugged your x-box into your TV then your TV into the soundbar via ARC then you'd only get stereo (for "most TV's) from your xbox. This is true for both the optical out and HDMI ARC. The TVs internal tuner and streaming will output full surround sound though. Having so many inputs on this unit means that it can become your HDMI hub ensuring you're getting the best sound quality from 3 devices as well as your TVs tuner. It will pass on 3D and even 4K so no issues there. In terms of ease of use it couldn't get any easier, as long as your TV supports ARC then the bar will turn off and on as you turn your TV off and on and the TV remote control can be used to control volume. If you're the sort of person who isn't all that fussed between Sport and Movie modes etc then the only time you need to touch the soundbar remote is to switch sources. The wireless subwoofer is another big bonus allowing it to be placed pretty much anywhere in the room, behind the sofa works very well in our living room. The Bluetooth works without issue, a quick sync and your device is using the soundbar as its speaker.

Overall then you get a very easy to connect soundbar with as many inputs as anything else out there, a decent attempt at surround sound and a sturdy, quality product. What you don't get is the top end sound but for the money I would not complain at all. Nor would I complain about a lack of HDMI cables, how is Sony or any other manufacturer supposed to know what lengths you need? They're not expensive and for around 20 you can have all the cables you need to fully connect 4 devices with the right length of cable for you. Anybody spending more than about 5 on a HDMI cable is a mug in my opinion.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought For Daughter, Never Been Used, 14 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Takes nice pictures, print quality is good. However this was bought for an 18 year old because all the video bloggers she likes were using them and it would be great for parties. It's been used once, the day she got it, then the novelty wore off. Just make sure you've got room on your dusty cameras that don't get used shelf because that's where one of these is likely to end up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works For Me, Neighbours Don't Like It, 14 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Next door have 3 cats that wouldn't dream of taking a crap in their own garden so I positioned this facing the fence that they always come over to get into ours. Works like a dream, we've had no problems since setting this up. The only slight issue is that I should probably order another to face the other way and stop the cats from down the road coming into the garden from the other side.

4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive But You Should Get Your Money Back, 14 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
9v batteries are always expensive so it's no surprise to find these rechargeable ones very expensive. Just make sure that you are going to use them enough to get your money back because standard 9v batteries tend to last a long time for most applications. I bought 2 of these for smoke alarms and to be honest they don't need charging more than once a year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not As Nice As The Mint Flavour, 14 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As far as protein bars go this range take some beating, soft enough to easily chew and with a strong pleasant flavour. Between these and the Mint version I prefer the flavour of the Mint ones but can't take use them because of the huge amount of Caffeine in them, these orange ones are caffeine free and so have caused no problems with my IBS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favourite Dart To Date, 10 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well balanced and easy to handle, the smooth grip is absolutely no problem. Only issue was with the shafts working loose after almost every throw but that was easily solved by using some better quality shafts. Overall when you look at what you're getting for the money these are a great buy for any amateur player. I was hitting 180's within 3 hours of owning these.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better Than The Phil Taylor Brass Darts, 10 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought these at the same time as the Phil Taylor darts I've reviewed - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0018AE4UI/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B0018AE4UI&linkCode=as2&tag=a0b7a-21 and for my money these are the better darts. Still old school and chunky but I found it easier to get a more reliable throw with these.

3.0 out of 5 stars Old School Darts, 10 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
With darts you tend to get what you pay for so ignore the Phil Taylor name on these and just look at the price tag. For those not aware of the difference between brass and tungsten brass darts like these tend to be chunky, easy to throw straight but hard to get really tight groupings. I wouldn't bring these down the pub but for a set to have as spares at home you could do much worse.
