5.0 out of 5 stars For the Price - bargain, 22 Feb. 2013

Cannot rate this coffee machine highly enough. Simple to use (after a quick read through the manual!), quick to make and really great tasting coffee - all for a respectable price (compared to similar systems)

Love the build quality and the minimalist layout - one power button, one brew button, one steam button (plus dial for pressure) - you cannot go wrong.

I will never hand over money to Starbucks ever again! If you like good 'proper' coffee then I'm amazed you haven't already bought one.

Great for the price, but be warned - if you have it connected and switch inputs on your TV, then when you switch back it may very well reboot your Xbox.
Make sure you disconnect it beforehand or at the very least save your game!

2.0 out of 5 stars TV series, 14 Jun. 2007
Even the original TV series I grew up watching, although Ham-acted was better than this travesty. Leave it to Disney to destroy a great bit of kids fiction....

1.0 out of 5 stars ??????, 14 Jun. 2007
This review is from: The Ring Two [DVD] (DVD)
Why does everyone think the 1st was so great? It was terrible compared to the original. Watch the Japanese versions of both of them. And if you won't because you don't like subtitles, then you need to grow up a bit.

1.0 out of 5 stars hhmm...., 2 Jun. 2007
I don't agree with those who slated it saying it was badly acted, because Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson are good actors, but I didn't like it because ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS.

I know its about a love affair that never was, but come on.... give us something.

It tries to be warm and awkward at the same to mirror the humanity in people, but with so little going on, any attempt to inject life into it is completely pointless.

'What do you think they whispered at the end?' People have asked me..... To be frank, I didn't care by that point.

Best bit is Murray's slapstick on the Treadmill. Other than that, if your looking for sentimentality, try watching it whilst listening to the Hovis tune or something.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shocking. and not in an electric kind of way...., 2 Jun. 2007
This review is from: The Covenant [DVD] [2007] (DVD)
Agree with most other folk. This movie is terrible.
If ultimate power is just throwing see-through balls of energy at people, then why would you want it? I've seen more magic come out of my cat's a*se.
Poorly acted, obviously no plot, music is terrible, badly shot. It's going no-where fast, and is not even worthy of the title of popcorn movie. It makes you want to choke on your popcorn so you don't have to see the ending.

Avoid. And don't watch the Craft either coz thats is better but not by much. Watch the Witches of Eastwick or summat. It's a vastly superior film with people who can actually act in it and a director who knows what their doing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Weak. More proof that Batman is by far DC's best export, 19 Aug. 2006
I struggled reading most of the other views regarding this film.

Fair enough, I've always been a Marvel boy rather than DC, but I loved the Original Superman films, and the first two and last Batman films were amazing.

This, however leaves a lot to be desired. The chemistry between the protagonist and Lois Lane is bland and lackluster - she has about two minutes of conversation with Routh's Clark Kent. Having said that she is not as infuriating as Margot Kidder in her role as Lois.

Perry White is uninspired and appears as though he couldn't edit his way out of a paper bag. As for Jimmy Olsen, I can't remember what he even looked like.

You expected a lot more from a top-class acting talent like Kevin Spacey, but it's clear he's having too much fun playing an over-zealous madman. Call Gene Hackman for his buffoonery if you like, but his charm made an impression on the original films.

you can count the jokes on one hand for this film, and still have fingers left over. The best line comes from one of Luther's lackeys 'Is that it?' but there's not much else.

I appreciate the man of steel himself is a moral vacuum and couldn't make a rude joke if he tried, but come on! he's got as much personality as a lump of coal. Is it me, or aren't all the best heroes all smart-alec, wise cracking mavericks (John McClane, Ash from Evil Dead, Spiderman)? The conversation is just too dull to remember.

Which would mean the action and story line are completely riveting. You could hope. But you'd be wrong.

The fact he gets shot in the face for a full minute doesn't detract from the question 'Why is this happening?'. Why is there a madman with a stupidly large gun that he couldn't possibly carry all the way to the top of a tall building, doing that? It's almost like they decided to have a superpower showcase, but didn't care to explain the scenes.

And when they do try to have a story - I know there's not a lot they can do about what I'm about to say - weren't you just waiting for the Kryptonite? Try and keep your audience guessing? Not with this film. It's just trite. at least with Superman II you had three other people who could hurt him without the need of a little green rock. This was just a rehashed plot on a bigger scale.

It may sound cruel, but my favourite part was when he got stuck with the Kryptonite knife. At least then he showed some emotion.

But I genuinely didn't care what happened to him at that point - which is my biggest complaint about the film in general. There is no personality to any of the characters (except Luthor who goes too far the other way), so all the swishing around in tight pants is just window dressing.

My advice, stick to Batman, Spiderman or Evil Dead II/III - at least they have the backbone to say something marginally damning to a bad guy before dispatching them. And at least with them the story is something you might not expect, coz let's be honest, the average Joe on the street could have wrote the script for this film in a day. And probably done a better job.
