5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says on the tin, 15 Nov 2006
This review is from: Snakes on a Plane [DVD] (DVD)
We all know the internet hype behind this, but Snakes On A Plane delivers. I believe other reviewers have completely missed the point by scoring this lowly and reading their critique to back up their scores. If you are expecting a beutifully acted epic like "On The Waterfront" or "Citizen Kane" you'll be dissapointed. If however, you want 90 minutes of tounge in cheek laughs and Samuel L Jackson hamming it up you'll love this. We all know SLJ can act, Pulp Fiction, for example but, he does what he needs to do in this. Fight off Snakes on this ****** ******* plane!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than England's chances, 17 May 2006
Wow! The competition was tough on the Christian O'Connell breakfast show for the World Cup anthem but, cream rises to the top and Jimmy Pursey's entry was a clear winner. An excellent reworking of his band, Sham 69's 1978 classic Hurry Up Harry, with a little help from Graham Coxon. This is perfect for the long hot summer of football and the anthemic instantaneosness of this will make it a hit both in the German stadia and the English pubs and clubs. England won't go all the way, but this deserves to. Outstanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't need to be a convention geek to enjoy!, 26 Sep 2005
This collection, is packed with everything from beautiful song, to progressive rock all in Fish's unique way.
All of Marillion's outstanding work is here, not surprising as they stopped being relevant when Fish left.
If you liked an early Marillion song, want to know what happened to their lead vocalist or want to sample some great music, this is the album for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime, 21 Feb 2005
This review is from: 12"/80s (Audio CD)
This amazing collection, firmly points two fingers at the cynics who knock the 1980's and its music. Sure, there was a fair amount of tack and nonsense about then but, wasn't/isn't there in any decade?
It is a first appearance on CD for many of these full versions and the charm and appeal of the album lies around the eclectic choice of tracks. Alongside the mass selling Tainted Love in its full glory are some non-obvious tracks by big artists of the time, such as The Human League, ABC, The Jam et al. Thrown in to the mix are some genuine classics by non mass selling artists like Tin Tin Duffy, Bauhaus and Hipsway and great full length versions of some mid to late 80's pop-jazz workout's by the criminally underated Blow Monkeys and Curiosity Killed The Cat.
A compilation that ranks alongside the very best of the Hed Kandi, Back To Love series.
So brilliant, i'll even forgive Kid Creole!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, 22 Sep 2004
This review is from: 22-20s (Audio CD)
Well written, well crafted and beautifully performed.
This is a debut that ranks along side the the debut albums of The Stone Roses, Blur & Oasis.
This is bluesy without being blues and rocky without being rock, it meets the two genres half way and really works.
The album kicks in with "The Devil In Me" which is a wondeful track and the standard never drops. All the singles are on here and this deserves to be massive. If you want to take a chance on some new music, liked the singles or you're a fan of the Stones then I'd recommend this CD 5/5

A football anthem from the people, to the people.
Football songs are normally of a shoddy standard.
This package however is different.
Three Lions was a great sing-a-long tune,
World In Motion was a brilliant song but, this
cuts down the middle of both and is better. Brilliant lyrics, catchy chorus and features some of the best musicians the UK has to offer.
The B-Side "E.N.G.L.A.N.D" is wonderful as well and the sort of song you can wind your neighbours up with for the next month by playing very loudly. They'll be humming it in seconds but, you'll get no thanks.
Order this now!
