5.0 out of 5 stars Don't ask, Just watch!, 8 Jun. 2003
This review is from: Donnie Darko [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
I watched thisfilm last night, and i'm still buzzing from it. I still can't get over how amazingly everything fits together. Not one part of the film is overlooked. From the beginning its grips you and doesn't let go until the very end. You find yourself laughing when something clicks because it is so clever. The last time a filmgripped me this much was "The Usual Suspects" (1995). If you're going to watch this film though, there's no point asking questions. If somebody tells you anything, it will only ruin it. Expect nothing!

4.0 out of 5 stars not for beginners, 3 Mar. 2003
I am obviously not right for this game. I have watched many a Command and Conquer game pass by and seen that many people have liked them. I also thought that they were pretty cool and wanted to see what all the fuss was about, went out and bought C+C Generals. It seems to me that you need to already have a good knowledge of the previous game to enjoy this one. I was quite dissapointed because i can only really have a chance at beating the computer on the normal level and they're too easy, so i beat them so quickly i cant get to any of the good stuff like particle cannons or air strikes. This just leaves tanks and this is rather boring. To play this game to its fullest, you need to already have a previous one and be good at it. If not, i suggedt you go and buy an earlier one. Theyre better for some reason! oh well it's still a pretty cool game.

3.0 out of 5 stars An amazing game only seems to come in small doses, 8 July 2002
Metal Gear Solid was arguably the best game for the playstation. I played it again and again, and even though i completed it in 3 hours, i still played it over and over. Then, when Metal Gear Solid: sons of liberty came out i bought it straight away and completed it on the same weekend. Granted, it took me over twice the amount of time to complete it than the first, and it has more tricks like hanging over the edge of a walkway to avoid the enemy soldiers, and the tranquiliser gun, and the swords towards the end, but it was still seriously short. Also, the fact that you only play as snake for about one 5th of the game is annoyng. The idea that you, have to get the soldiers dogtags to get all the things like the bandana and the the stealth suit. This is, at first, really exciting and extremely clever, but this soon gets tedious, having to go through a 30 second process with over 300 soldiers. This gets really boring and this made me stop playing it and go onto other, better games. Buy it, but be warned, it isn't as good as the first.
