5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic little book, 26 Mar. 2011
This little book packs a lot in, and in fact gives you a better background than some longer introductory books. The beauty of it is once you have read it you can keep it as a reference. If you any kind of web developement background and some basic Javascript knowledge this is all you might need. Can't recommend it enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars Please rename this book, 26 Mar. 2011
Please read the contents before you buy. I am used to the Wrox convention of Beginning... then Professional... (e.g. ASP.Net) but this book is aimed at ALL levels. The book is split into three with only the third being aimed at advanced customisation. I would not expect a book by Wrox entitled 'professional' to have a chapter on creating a publishing page in SharePoint. While there are sections on jQuery and XSLT they are just not in depth enough. The book tries to be all things to all people but the first two sections are two basic for developers and the last section will just confuse ordinary SharePoint publishers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what you want it to, 20 Jan. 2011
After looking through page after page of iPhone covers I began to wonder if the San Francisco had been left out. Then I found these. A doddle to fit and they don't intefere with the phones normal operation. Don't use your phone without them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lacking in detail, 28 May 2007
How good this book is depends on your needs. I bought the book to get up to speed with expression, but mostly using it to design ASP.Net sites (master pages, themes etc) and found the book sadly lacking. If you need REALLY basic stuff (like how to style a heading in CSS or add an image) then fine. If you are anything like an experienced web designer/developer or want to learn how to design ASP.Net sites look elsewhere.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good book, poor examples, 6 Dec. 2002
I like the format of this book and like learning in a structured way but after getting half way through it I have abandonned the labs. I mainly wanted the equivelant of a course but in a book but both myself and another developer have had real problems getting the code to work. There are a couple of typos and in one case their seems to be some code missing. There are no corrections listed on the Microsoft Press Support. For the price I expected better, and if you are a novice you will find trying to get the examples installed and working difficult. Really good book well planned out and informative spoilt by the code.
