Peter Hamilton cannot write a bad story. In this book he throws a completely new twist into his high tech universe and proves again what a brilliant author he is. The story hooks you from the start and then just keeps giving with revelation after revelation, fitting the jigsaw together with an "omg that's who he/she was" moment at the end of many chapters which mean you just have to read on. The characters and storylines weave together beautifully making it difficult to put down and it introduces many new concepts and ideas to the veteran Hamilton reader that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Unlike so many sci-fi stories the mysteries are solved, explained and usually hit you like a brick to the head. Hamilton is a master of his trade, I've been reading sci-fi for 45 years and can honestly say that this man is at the top of the list.

And the best thing of all, there's going to be more to come and like me, you won't be able to wait for the next one !

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent finale to a brilliant trilogy, 11 Jan. 2014

So many books of this ilk take the reader through a journey of mystery and hints only to leave them hanging at the end with an inadequate or "clever" non-ending that leaves you frustrated and annoyed. I like things to be tidied up at the end of a book and Jason Hough does NOT disappoint with this brilliant ending to his fantastic trilogy. I have literally just finished reading the last book and I'm still on an emotional high. I've read all three books back to back and I've loved all of them. If you're looking for something different with action, mystery, romance, adventure and the occasional gratuitous violence in a sci-fi genre that's written in a mature style with lots of background, sub-plots and character detail that makes you live the story with them, then try this trilogy.

And the best thing is, Hough has left the door wide open for a follow up series. Come on Hough, more of the same please !!

I've been reading sci-fi for over 40 years and this series of books has managed to come up with something new and exciting. The concept is novel, the writing is brilliant, the action, tension and mystery woven into the story is gripping. I'm nearly at the end of the second book now and haven't been able to put it down. If you're looking for something different that's going to grab you from page 1 and make you want to read the next chapter and the next then I highy recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant yarn, 29 Nov. 2013

Loved the previous series and had no hesitation buying this one. Using Opal as the central character was an interesting evolution form having Yelena as the heroine. Although the storyline was gripping and kept me wanting to read the next chapter and the next chapter....there was a bit of a theme evolving which which got a bit repetirious at times. Opal falls for a guy, guy abuses her, Opal vows never to do it again, Opal falls for another guy, guy abuses her....... Still a great read though and I'd still recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing PC, 29 Nov. 2013

There's a lot of bad reviews for this product mainly about build quality but I went for it anyway and was not disappointed. This is a kick ass PC at an amazing price. Bought it for my son's birthday and it's so good I've just ordered another one for myself. OK there may be a few things that some people don't like, such as the label they stick across the on board graphics connectors telling you to use the one fitted to the expansion card slot which is a bit amateur but they're just being helpful. I didn't see any alignment problems with the sockets but there was a case screw rattling round inside. I just took the side off and removed it, no biggy. Yes the quality may not be up to the standard of the top guys but if you can use a screwdrive then go for it. If you get one with connectors misaligned then just fix it.

I looked at similar spec PCs and couldn't find one anywhere near this price, we're talking hundreds of pounds more not just a few. First boot up the screens are in German which can be kinda scary but after a couple of minutes you get the option to change to English, sorted. It's playing WoW on maxed out graphics settings, boss fights in raids and still pulling over 55fps. Awesome. Skyrim on ultra graphics mode at 55-60fps. Where are you going to get that kind of performance at this price. It even dropped another £20 between ordering last week and ordering this week.

Amazon are always top class at dealing with customer problems so if you get a bad one just send it back but at this spec and this price it's definitely worth a punt.

Logitech G500 Gaming Mouse

5.0 out of 5 stars Gamer's delight, 12 Oct. 2013

Well pleased with this mouse. It's beautifully styled and fits the hand perfectly. Just enough buttons to give you plenty of options without having so many that you feel like you need another 20 fingers to use it. The fact you can program every single button is great and the programming functions are incredibly versatile.

As well as simple single key substitution you can program sequences to simulate a series of keystrokes with delays between them, define up key and down key outputs seperately and put the whole sequence on repeat. You can define different profiles for different games and it will automatically detect which game you've loaded and switch to that profile. It feels solid and has a good weight to it which you can further increase with the supplied neatly presented box of extra weights should you want to.

It's not the cheapest mouse on the market but to be honest what you're buying is this incredible versatility and programability that will make your gaming experience so much better than before. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I mean, they're glass and they're 20mm x 5mm just like it says on the tin. I didn't actually try them at 3.15A but I bet they'd blow really slow if I did. If you're looking for a 20mm x 5mm glass fuse rated at 3.15A these are your babies. Amazing.
