Posttraumatic
by Ronald Simonar
Edition: Paperback
Price: £4.75

5.0 out of 5 stars “Posttraumatic” a superb story; interesting, intriguing, surprising, violent, sadistic and shocking., 17 Dec. 2015
This review is from: Posttraumatic (Paperback)
“Posttraumatic” a superb story; interesting, intriguing, surprising, violent, sadistic and shocking. A story of the intricacies of the mind, a mind taken over; a thrilling read that keeps the reader enthralled throughout. The opera of the asylum is vividly painted; the writing extremely visual, some scenes may halt you, you may question what is written but you will be completely absorbed as the shock, horror and disbelief unfold. I could not put this book down. Author Ronald Simonar kindly let me read his manuscript in the early stages I enjoyed it then and still do. I am so pleased Ronald decided to publish. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who likes dark thrillers. I loved reading “Posttraumatic”

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful short story that pulls on the heart strings, 8 Jun. 2015
A tragic romantic story, narrated in an unusual way. The first chapter didn't enthuse however I continued as I had promised to read this book, a gift from the author, and was suitably rewarded. It progressed into a well written, beautiful short story that pulls on the heart strings. Enjoyed it immensely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Violent thriller - exciting but also mysterious and even at times bewildering., 13 Dec. 2014
This violent thriller was sent to me by the author and it is at times exciting but also mysterious and somewhat confusing. So much so that in parts I was thoroughly engrossed and in others totally bewildered. I wish I had read the first book in the series to familiarise myself with the characters and it seems I need to read the follow on to fully comprehend it totally.

3.0 out of 5 stars There is not enough substance in the plot. A little lightweight., 20 Nov. 2014

There is not enough substance in the plot. A friend suspected of killing her husband and of course Kali is fortunately on hand to offer help and support. A little lightweight.

Not gritty enough. The courtroom scenes are quite boring no excitement or anticipation to hold the reader's interest.

Just couldn't get into this and found it hard going. The plot is interesting enough but the content doesn't flow.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hope the author has a rethink as it is now keystone cops with an abundance of gore, 20 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series began extremely well and I liked the characters and the fact our hero was always in trouble but always did the "right thing" as the series has developed it has become a little keystone cops with an abundance of gore. Hope the author has a rethink.

3.0 out of 5 stars Written to shock, 24 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So disappointed, loved the earlier books but this seems written to shock it is macabre, ghoulish and gruesome. It is a shame because the character of Logan McRae was an inspirational creation but loses credibility in this book. The author is able to inject humour into the most dire situations unfortunately this time the plot is over the top. I will continue to read his books as I have number 5 ready to go.

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another enjoyable storyline with interesting gritty plots, this time a footballer and his wag are at the centre of his investigations. Logan McRae is a very believable character although I'm sure if Aberdeen Police really had such a person he would be more than a detective sergeant.
